Having some difficulty attaining the new crafting recipes. Not sure if I may have messed myself up here - but leveled Alchemy in like…an hour just buying mats from AH - since that point I have not been able to attain the patterns for the new 8.3 recipes. Is there a lock on how long I have to wait to get these recipes after leveling the profession? Tried re-logging my character to attempt a “Refresh” of sorts, but to no avail, have probably killed a thousand mobs or so since leveling the profession but to no avail. Halp!

I’m having the same issue right now. Started off 8.3 with Jewelcrafting and received the 440 recipe off my first kill but after dropping Jewelcrafting and switching to Engineering the 440 recipe refuses to drop even after 3 days of doing dailies/farming for it

dO they just drop randomly?
Have you leveled the profession to 160-165 BfA skill yet? I don’t think you will get the recipes until you reach the skill level needed.
Is there a list of all of the new recipes?
Engineering is at 175
I’m having similar issues. I dropped my gathering profession for Jewelcrafting and have been unsuccessful with concern to looting the new recipe. The engineering recipe dropped, nearly, on the first mob at the onset of 8.3.

It’s possible there’s a bug with changing professions and getting the recipe drops for this tier. Have you posted in Bug Reports? (This is not to get info or feedback from Blizzard, but just to let them know there might be a problem for the developers to troubleshoot and fix.)

I think to get the recipes to drop, you need to have unlocked the legendary cape. This is probably for story reasons, void focus tapping into Ny’alotha, blah blah, must unlock the gateway into visions to gain access or whatever. Had another alt that I took through the cape acquisition process just this 2nd week of 8.3, did not see any recipes in Uldum at all until after getting the cape and coming back to finish off the assault dailys, and then they dropped fairly quickly.
Not sure on how high of a level of your profession is required as well, the ones I have done this on are all max level in their professions. I shall check a neglected alt later that has a gave-up-half-way attempt at cooking skill.
In the mean time, would love to hear if anyone else has been getting recipes to drop before they have gotten their legendary cape.
