there will be no cross realm mythic CN raid before 9.1. thank blizzard for perfect faction balance
Weâve already heard from the top guilds⊠the reason they canât/wonât switch is because Blizzard charges an absurd price to do so.
They can either spend that cash on equipping their raiders, or switch over/alienate fans/lose members, etc. for a racial here or there that might be better on 1 fight.
Blizz would have to open their wallets and stop money grabbing to restore faction balance⊠and do you see that happening with the current team?
All that said, as much as the factions might cause some inconvenience here or there⊠Iâd wager itâs much, much better for the game to retain the divide and RP element of this antagonism.
Itâs not even just this, thereâs no in-game reason to switch alliance from an output perspective.
The whole reason high end PVE guilds went horde in the first place was because Blizzard allowed Troll and Orc to be the best PVE racials for years. Even after those racials were toned down the damage was already done, and thereâs no incentive to move back to alliance. Not to mention as you said the cost in real money.
Itâs the same with alliance, the top arena teams for over a decade were all alliance because of the human racial.
But even if there was faction balance (which there never will be) you still wouldnât have balance on servers. This again goes back to if you wanted to be on a big server like Illidan or Stormrage for raiding it was still a PVP realm, so you joined the dominant faction if for no other reason than not to be hassled. Again this has been addressed with WM but thatâs come way too late to fix the imbalance.
None of this should be keeping anyone awake at night though, it is what it is.
I feel like those are vastly over estimated, and alliance racials are vastly underestimated.
I got a decent dps increase going void elf on my warrior.
You do realize they were talking in the past tense, right? As in they used to be the best, but have since been tuned.
And anyone that wants to use those racials can just use then when they play on tournament realms. Literally no reason to switch.
Okay? Were you going to be participating in cross realm Mythic raids? Not even sure why itâs even a thing other than selling runs.
Horde have the better aesthetics, more people pick it
wow logic
First off, anecdotal evidence is anecdotal. Second, youâre talking about a race introduced at the end of legion when the damage had already been done for years at that point.
The shift of high end guilds to horde happened long legion, mostly from the WOTLK-MOP timeframe.
Thatâs more of the playerbase causing this, not so much devs.
There ARE cross-realm raid teams out there, I personally am part of a cross-realm normal/heroic raiding community because my guild doesnât raid. My team doesnât do Mythic even when it is open, but Iâm sure there are cross-realm teams out there that would like to.
Ah yes the first sign of HoF complaints. I am actually happy to see it again. A nice break from the absolute crummy threads made the past few days.
The token being able to be used for blizz balance with patch 7.1.5, threw jetfuel on the situation. Take your boost gold and then faction/server swap everyone to horde on Thrall/A52/Illidan/Ticho/Malâganis/Zulâjin.
Alliance races are actually quite strong in PvE. Stun break, Bleed remover etc.
Horde was just too OP and raiders are too lazy to transfer. They will keep stacking up until Blizzard do something.
Looking forward to M Generals being a terrible fight for weeks while the HoF fills up and Blizzard drags their feet on fixing anything.
Thatâs not Blizzards fault, thatâs a player made issue. I donât remember Blizzard forcing players to play a certain faction. Give credit where credit is due.
The time to turn the ship around on this issue was late Cata through mid MoP. During 5.2 there was a really massive thread covering the issue as it was pretty evident even back then, which was almost 9 years ago. Racial tweaks and toning down happened several expansions later, but thereâs no real reason to go back to Alliance. The raiding community is largely housed in the Horde, and it creates more talent and opportunities. The community as of now benefits more from having everyone under one banner.
Blizzard seems dead set on maintaining the faction divide, which ends up with serious content pushers on Horde while more casual players are Ally-side. The notable exception I guess being OCE.
Lol youâre kidding right? The horde aesthetic other than blood elf stuff is objectively disgusting
Fixed that for you
No joke, aesthetics are the number one reason that Iâve never been able to play a Horde character longer than five minutes. The hideous building designs, monstrous allies, and excessive use of the color red make me want to log off and play a different game altogether.
Faction balance is pretty good actually, aliance seems to even have a very small edge. Not enough for people to pay to switch factions though.
