8.3 by Jan 7th or 14th

January 7th is very likely since that is the end of the WoW Anniversary and with much of 8.3 already on PTR…its likely sooner than later.

Would be nice. And, if so, I expect we’ll hear something within the next couple weeks.

I’m going with November 2020. No way the release date gets pushed back.

WoD already hurt Legion and BFA’s release.

8.3 isn’t out yet? Must be getting pretty boring in retail.

It is more of an educational guess as the 15th WoW anniversary event ends on the 7th of Jan.

Makes sense to release 8.3 on the 7th.

Yea I am thinking this too. December release for SL is too long not to mention releasing it on a holiday when they know it is not even a good idea to release a major patch on a holiday.

8.3 will come out on some Tuesday

Absolute nonsense and people always buy Blizzard spin-doctoring.

Since when have WoW players been big on real life socialising? What, because a couple of days are going to make any difference? I think people will find the average WoW player is on the game MORE during the Christmas season.

Besides since when has and should the game be catered for the tiny tiny percentage of hardcore raiders where a few days of playing less actually means anything?

The raid does not have to be released with 8.3. Any time near it in fact, so that means prep really isn’t absolutely required hardcore 100% commitment a month or two before.

It’s called stretching out the feeble content updates as much as humanly possible because they probably realised BfA was a write-off early. Instead they’re probably doing a Legion and putting resources into Shadowlands at the expense of current content.

Less content for the same money and people buy the spin as a good thing, because Blizzard sugar it up in “Oh we’re only thinking about you about not rushing content.” Ha, as if people aren’t bored out of their skulls for the most part; and as if raiding is the only thing in this game (I admit it’s the only thing Blizzard seem to actually design well).

Not as boring as classic …

Blizz said “early 2020”, so I’m expecting it to be released sometime in March.

Patch 8.3 was confirmed to be early 2020 months and months ago. Blizzard made a statement saying that 8.2.5 would be the final content patch of the year, and then that was later confirmed again with the release of the “Raid expectations involving the holidays” post here in GD.

Personal standpoint, I’d expect 8.3 January 7th, or 14th, with the raid then releasing 2-3 weeks later.

How exactly did this xpac hurt the next? Or perhaps you’re just a hater of things that aren’t exactly what you want.

I am putting my guess on the 14th. I don’t think they would do it RIGHT at the end of the anniversary event, I feel like they would do a one week buffer.

Mind you that is just a gut feeling/guess on my part.

Nothing for me in the patch so no rush.

14th or 21st, leaning towards 14th though

I would prefer that they release things when they are ready, even if it delays Shadowlands into 2021.

They did say that they specifically didn’t want to drop it around the holidays so they could be considerate of people’s family plans.

hmm… more time for obtain my AOTC or CE achievement.
