Patch 8.2 released June 25. It’s now 5 days past the 3 month mark.
june,july,august,september,october.
imagine adding
November December January too
8 months of 8.2 since 8.2.5 added only like 4 quests
if 8.3 is 8 months as well then
9.0 is September 11 2020
June 25 > July 25 = 1 month
July 25 > August 25 = 1 month
August 25 > September 25 = 1 month
September 25 > today = 5 days
I am talking about the unfinished content, the stability of the game when it launched, and the bugs.
Most likely we’ll get an 8.3 announcement stream and/or initial PTR before blizzcon. I assume they want all their blizzcon time dedicated to the next expansion.
8.3 probably won’t go live until after the holidays, though.
The last time Blizz tried doing a raid with purely internal testing was BWL back in vanilla. And that was a horribly buggy mess when it went live so they have never repeated that mistake.
Blizzcon will reveal both 8.3 and 9.0.
I get that - but to be honest most of those bugs/issues were resolved within the first 2 to 3 weeks.
The endemic design issues are still making terrible to this day. Most people are over the fact that high pop realms were down for 6 hours during launch… but BFA still sucks to this day.
Early Dec. the patch will drop, mid Jan the raid opens. Leaves time for a March-April 8.3.5 and an aug 9.0 drop. July is prepatch
The 7.3 raid Antorus the Burning Throne was out at the end of November. Keeping Blizzard on track for their August expansion release date. 2 year cycle.
Basically Blizzard has to announce 8.3 at Blizzcon while keeping it secret (no PTR ect) for Blizzcon and release it in the same month in order to keep on track with their 9.0 expansion date in August.
Something fishy is going on here making me think that 8.3 could of got the axe.
The raid opened on November 28, yes. The patch containing the raid went live on August 29, with an additional 7.3.2 patch on October 24 that had more raid tuning prior to it opening. They’ve also spread their patch cycles out in BFA from what Legion’s were.
8.3 will likely launch by the end of the year or early January with a January opening date for the raid. The timing is fine.
Do you want another year of what we have now?? People really need to STOP with the 8.3 has been canceled rumors.
Its cause the timeline doesn’t line up with there being a 8.3. It should of already been out. Instead we have heard nothing about it while 7.3 was announced a year before it was out. There is nothing on the PTR for 8.3 for a patch that should more or less already been out if they are keeping to their 2 year cycle.
The patches in BFA take longer than the patches of Legion, by design.
They don’t have to match Legion’s timeline. I am pretty sure they specifically stated they wouldnt’. They can be out by December and allow 6 months of 9.3 content, then we gear up for 9.0 prepatch.
Another raid tier was confirmed before TEP raid was released.
Have you forgotten that 6.1 was a thing?
they are going to have to test it… so not 100% secret
You’ll likely be seeing 8.3 PTR hit before Blizzcon, but probably won’t see 8.3 Retail before December/January.

There’s always a chance they could do something new and have the pre-expansion bonus like the allied races from last time be unlocked in 8.3, just this time it be the new class/race or whatever.
My guess is it’ll be end of december or early january. November will be all about the anniversary LFR and alterac valley events then we’ll have 8.3 around the new year. The usual delay for opening the raid and then a few months of that. Then they’ll release 8.3.5 during the beginning of or maybe early summer, which will be the lead in to 9.0 storywise. Then towards the end of summer they’ll have the pre-launch event patch and either end of august or sometime in september will be 9.0.
That’s my guess anyways. Just speculation but would fit with the release patterns theyve been using lately.
Or maybe, there is no 9.0.
You know, we “break the cycle”, Alliance and Horde best friends now. We kill last Old God, and then > WoW 2 , in the future when Anduin’s already old as shown by comic :x .
Our guys need some years to replenish the planet of still-living (or undead) fighters after all.
