It seems like people are holding out a bit of hope. I have a few questions for those who haven’t been pleased with the game recently:
Are you holding out at least a little bit of hope for 8.2? We’ve gotten some great (yet vague) details about an Azerite system, which would make it so traits aren’t locked behind necklace level.
Would you come back to experience the story? Azshara is a huge character, and this story has been several years in the making.
What are your overall thoughts on how Battle for Azeroth could end up being? MoP was in a similar situation, but 5.2 made it a fantastic expansion in the eyes of many. Do you believe 8.2 could be the same saving grace?
I’m definitely holding out hope that 8.2 will turn this xpac around. I’ve had a feeling this whole xpac that the 2nd half of BFA would br much better.
It vastly depends on the neck rework if it’s good or not. World content up till now has kinda been a joke, no BFA version of suramar. The order hall campaigns are legit alone like 5x the amount of content bfa’ story has, which is weird since technically its 2 stories vs what 12 or so classes stories?
And we have nothing really like the illidan character story questline, which they said they wanted to do more of.
That said I’m still holding out hope that 8.2 will turn BFA around, but only time will tell I suppose.
Sylvanas is the new Illidan. She’s gonna save us all from certain doom. You naysayers who have asked for her head on a platter will be screaming mea culpa soon!
If the Azerite rework fails, and their WQs aren’t better than the tedium we have now, I don’t think a great storyline alone will be enough.
Also, the Azshara storyline basically has to be the best thing ever, considering she’s as old a lore character as the Legion itself basically, and they’ve had all this time to finally bring her to the spotlight. If the story is as weak as what we’ve had so far in BFA, that would be very bad.
I’m expecting Sylvanas to be full-on evil. I don’t care about her saving us from the Old Gods. Let her don the helm crafted by Kil’jaeden, infused with the spirit of Ner’zhul so that she may become the Lich Queen and bring about the wrath of undeath upon all.
Why would you have hope when you havent seen anything about the “newest” iteration of the azerite system?
What you have at this point is someone saying it will get better. Didnt they already say that when they said traits would be rebalanced, additional rings would be added, that you could buy the pieces off a vendor?
How many times can you be told that it will be better and you will still believe it?
Personally, I could care less anymore. I’ll play classic before I continue on with this expac.
8.2 Doesn’t have to solve all of BfA’s or Wow’s major problems, but if they at least fix a few things I’ll have renewed hope that they’ve pulled their collective heads out.
I’m not expecting a panacea, but damn can we actually get an attempt?
the old saying, never expect anything and youll never be disappointed. Blizz has disappointed me enough times now, that i just dont get my hopes up anymore. let me be surprised that its good.
They’ve strayed too far from the formula that worked for me to stick around. Too much RNG. Too much time gating. Too much stubbornness on the part of the devs. Too much emphasis on M+ at the detriment of everything else. Too much shallow in the game overall. Too little community focus. Too much gear handed out for anything to actually feel rewarding. Too little value in crafting.
My account runs out on the 15th. I’ve barely played this expansion, and the only big news on the horizon from Blizzard is relaunching Vanilla. They should have gone with BC or Wrath if they wanted something to prop up subs.
