8.2 Arena Healer help

I don’t really arena seriously anymore, but have been 2k ish for the past few years just to establish the general bracket. I’m trying to settle into a new healer for 8.2

I don’t know what it is, but I am struggling with this rdruid which is odd because I know how much better than other healers they are. It could be that I’m playing with bads from LFR, but just feels like EVERY global has to be spent spamming nourish or they dont stay up.

Conversely, my shaman who is 20 ilvls lower isnt struggling at all. The word “unplayable” keeps getting thrown around with rsham tho so… is there a reason why? unless its just because of pack spirit nerfs?

Lastly, I’m down to play holy pally as long as the general consensus is that they arent going to be gutter tier once everyone gets geared.

Thoughts?

Honestly nothing compares to rdruid. You will only regret putting time and effort into something else to eventually face an rdruid team and get totally stomped and end up wishing you never abandoned yours. If you are having trouble it’s either your partners or you not playing correctly.

Really shouldn’t have much issues with Rdruid, but if you’re constantly having to spam nourish, it sounds like you guys are playing reactive, versus proactive.

Imo if Rdruid teams are letting other people dictate the game, it isn’t going to be an ideal situation for them. You and your partner should be able to control the match if you’re coordinating stuns/cc properly. It also could just be a situation of your partners not using CDs effectively, CC’ing properly, avoiding unnecessary damage, or not creating enough disruption or offensive pressure.

I also don’t think you should really use Nourish that often, but I could be wrong there, but I didn’t use it all that much on my druid. Swiftmend -> Sotf Regrowth should out heal nourish the majority of the time and more mana efficient.

Shamans I will say are not as weak as people make them out to be, but they’re definitely not in the greatest spot. Nerfing Pack spirit was necessary, but from what I’ve seen, yeah that’s pretty much why people think shamans are useless now, is because they’re used to relying on those traits. With that being said, unless your team is playing well, it should feel significantly harder to survive versus things, and keep your partners up - yet, not impossible.

I also have pretty much felt that Hpals are one of the strongest healers almost all of BfA, and especially since S2. I don’t think people gearing up is going to change Hpals viability, at all.

if youre casting anything youre doing it wrong. Nourish is a totally different build isnt it?

Maybe thats the biggest issue then is that I’m still rolling with nourish as opposed to focused growth. Also pretty sure my gear being behind isnt helping.

I also havent touched the improved cat form build so that could be contributory as well.

Not going to knock playing blind with ppl from lfr and no voice, cuz at the end of the day thats probably the biggest issue - lack of coordination.

Try shifting more and using your leap/life grip ability to get out of situations. Also don’t cast unless you have some distance + hots applied.
And if you’re low with no hots, it’s gonna cost you a lot of defensive cds which you may not have (aka dead bear). Just get used to always pressing 1. rejuv 2. Bear form 3. Travel form in some order you find fitting. Regrowth with full hots is a fat heal. Use it after you swiftmend for a equivalent to lay on hands.
