8.1 PvP Survivability

Is there any news about Blizzard addressing our survivability by 8.1? DPS improvement is must. But if we can't survive a burst or escape, then all of that improvement for PvP is still useless.

Case in point - PvP Skirmish weekly, under performing specs like Elemental, aren't going to progress without a lot of grey matter pressed into the wall.
lol, as 363 resto i cant even complete this weeks (win 10 arena skirmishes) quest...
As an enh they need to nerf our off heals a bit because they are OP and mask the fact we are made out of paper. We need NG baseline and a dmg reduction ability as a talent instead. Right now even with spam healing I get ran over by any class with high sustained/burst dmg i.e. fury, assa, surf, DH, goomy

Also, for the love of God give us a real mobility button baseline. Since NG is 100% needed almost every game feral lunge is usess being on the same tier. It feels awful sitting in gw chasing the meta specs frost mage, dh, war, rogue. Spirit walk is mediocre at best for pvp. We need a gap closer. I would even be fine if they made a clearly defined mobility tier and just made NG baseline.

Big takeaway, GIVE NATURES GUARDIAN TO ENH BASELINE.

I've got to second this. I've said in another post that Enhancement's niche is in it's ability to put immediate pressure on an enemy, but thisniche would be much more effective with access to feral lunge, which can't realistically be taken when Nature's Guardian is mandatory for basic survivability.

Spirit walk is mediocre at best for pvp.

Blessing of Freedom
Grants immunity to movement impairing effects for 8 seconds (and increases movement speed by 30% if using PVP talent).

Spirit Walk
Removes all movement impairing effects and increases movement speed by 60% for 8 seconds.

I love the base movement speed buff from Spirit Walk, but for PVP these days it is difficult to use when so many snares exist. Use it to break from one snare only to be immediately snared right after.
shaman are seeing play in almost every game during the arena world championship and you guys are asking for buffs lol. unless you are specifically talking about elemental give your head a shake
Resto is completely fine in pvp and is a very good spec

Enh is killing it right now

Ele needs gust of wind back and we’re in business

I don't think any shaman believes the damage doesn't need to be tuned. Even though I disagree on the healing, most say it needs reduced as well.

So asking for offsets is not really asking for a buff. Without healing, enhance is weak. Even with healing they really are.
I mean we're doable in PvP. A little buff in defensives and mobility wouldn't hurt though...
The new talent surge of power root does not appear to break on dmg from the ele. This will be a huge boon to ele survivability in pvp

"Doable"

What are you guys on? Rsham is arguably the best healer in the game and enhance is top two DPS...
Enh has instant cast off-heals. That helps SO much with survivability, especially with the swelling waves trait.

Why can't ele have the same?? It would go a long way towards improving our survivability.

Given the cast time and the amount of interupts when trying to cast a heal, even rogues have a better time healing themselves while in combat than ele does.
pumping as much damage as possible into warriors demon hunters priests paladins rogues druids monks mages etc etc etc for 5 minutes then they turn around and chop half my life out in 3 seconds

This is the only thing i'd ask for realistically for Ele PVP.

It's only the interrupts that are a pain as Ele and this helps with that significantly.

A reduction in maelstrom cost for instant heals would be fair as it takes Ele significantly longer to gain maelstrom that Enh.

I agree and the fact that you go oom pretty quick when trying to stay alive. They should also make Spirit Walk make you immune to roots like freedom, too many times I use it to break out of a mage's frost only to get rooted again right away
I thought I'd revisit my question again. It's universally felt by the Shaman base that we're squishy as hell and not performing well for our roles. In scanning though some of the replies, some will argue that Enhancements and Restoration Shaman are fine (based on # representation?) while others feel otherwise (experience).

As my concern was about Elemental, and could be applied to all 3 specs, boosting our damage is a plus. In revisiting random BG's, I've re-experienced why Elemental is fundamentally flawed - our cast times are so bad that they have no place in PvP. 1.7 Lightning Bolt, Chain Lighting, and Lava Burst DOES NOT WORK, on top of the +1 second caster penalty for disrupting attacks.

Based on my experience, because I'm not a Pro Arena PvP player and could careless about them as they don't represent the base player, by the time you get 1 channel cast off, I'm down to 1/3 or less of my health if not interrupted or CCed somehow. If I'm not able to perform my role consistently in a 1v1 situation (rare event in a BG), nor escape, how does this build pass the Dev's vision of a turret caster in a PvP environment?

Again, more damage is great! It'll work in PvE settings, but does not solve our functionality in PvP. We need defenses, we need to be able to cast our baseline attacks (lighting bolt, chain lightning, & Lava Burst) freely enough under pressure and because to hard break pressure like any other class on a CD.

Fake casting is your best friend here
I'm not disagreeing with you
I've been complaining about no earthgrab totem since pre patch
should replace static charge with roots
Something I wanted to add that I noticed last week. I'm ilvl 369, and I have the lowest health in my guilds raid group. A Frost Mage friend of mine is also 369 and has 6K more then me. Anyone notice that we have less health?
It's almost like if you got kicked on ele. You forget you have other schools you can use ? When you're kicked as a caster. Try casting hex next. They don't have a kick. Hex landed :)
