8.1: Jaina Sinks A Horde Fleet

That dramatic walk away from the explosions looks stupid.

I just watched it. They destroy our Forsaken fleet AND our Zandalari one?

Great faction parity, Blizz.

yeah but… can you really take numbers as canon or of relevance?

but to be honest… this attack was a little random from the horde.

Why bother with the bombs? Why not just use frost magic to cause gigantic spears of ice to erupt from the sea and impale the ships from below? That’s well within her established power level at this point.

Maybe she just wanted everyone else to feel included?

she said that it would be more efficient to just use the bombs because the other thing would leave her exhausted. or it would take a considerable amount of more effort.

I can’t wait till Horde gets their next fistpump moment, probably blighting the orphanage in Stormwind.

horde fistbump would be when we kill and old lady with the dead body of her son, for the horde!

I mean, it actually sounds pretty hilarious when you put it that way.

I would really like them to genuinely explain the extreme disparity that is currently happening from a story perspective. I know this won’t happen, but it would help if we knew just what exactly they are thinking.

I am not trying to claim they are biased in favor of either faction, for the record. Nor am I saying the story is perfect for the alliance by any means.

This story is downright painful and lacking any motivation currently hordeside. There is practically nothing enjoyable in this current plot, unless you actively desire either a repeat of the MoP civil war or just want to be evil.

On top of all that, we are weak and constantly getting our asses kicked, or only winning due to our secret atrocity trump cards. It just feels like the Horde is the evil faction that gets destroyed during the expansion, like the burning legion, scourge, twilight hammer, or iron horde.

For the record as well, the alliance getting a positive cutscene of them beating the horde is not bad in a vacuum. These reactions aren’t based on the cutscene itself, but it’s role in the ongoing problems.

Simple: The team writing the Horde story became enamored with the Zandalari and treated the faction conflict as an after thought.

The team writing the Alliance story all mains human paladins.

Cool Jainas don’t look at explosions.

Somehow, deep down in my heart, I always knew it was Grandblade’s fault.

I really hope the guys in charge of animating these cutscenes never come to Story Forums. They must think we hate them.

I mean, the animators dont really have anything to do with our problems. It isn’t on them for this story to be good, so I hope they don’t think that.

Walking up to Katherine Proudmoore and clubbing her with Derek’s femur would be infinitely more satisfying than what appears to be happening:

Another dastardly Sylvanas plot foiled by the power of Alliance love!

Perhaps I am cynical - but I see Derek and Calia being set up to help Anduin and Jaina argue for “good Alliance Undead”. Which means the Horde Undead will be the meanie-faces.

I won’t deny that it’s a nice win, but 3 ships does not a fleet make.

Stop bait-posting so hard. I realize that “Jaina sinks 3 ships” wouldn’t get as many clicks and replies, but c’mon.

C’mon, 3slot.

C’mon.

Lady Jaina Proudmoore, First of Her Name, Lord Admiral of Kul Tiras, Daughter of the Sea, Destroyer of Fleets.

Hey its not all bad. You guys somehow went from 3 ships full of orcs, a near extinct band of minotaurs, a near extinct band of trolls, elves whose population was decimated and near extinction, a boat full of goblins, and the remnants of the undead remnants of one of seven fallen human kingdoms to winning a battle in a war they started with overwhelming numbers.

Nah. I like to think both are stupid and showcase Blizz’s terrible habit of using characters with DBZ powers to drive plot points nobody wants instead of just writing people with needs that conflict and letting them set off in a sandbox to butt heads.

Besides, didn’t Talanji sink as many ships just one whole patch ago? Mountains out of molehills everywhere I swear. Nope!

Nope, it was Zandalari fleet. She’s not really powerful herself but I don’t mind it as I hate godmode characters.
