i feel like they are giving jaina too much credit here. like, the real mvp was that gnome that prepared the bombs and the pc who marked the place.
Itâs a fleet, sure. I just donât find it credible that Stormwind would send its entire superior fleet to chase Talanji.
Well, Talanji, Nathanos, Thalryssa, and Rhokan. Several high rank Horde figures about to try and make an alliance with a large, powerful empire.
Sure, but on the other hand, look at what had just happened to the Night Elves when they allowed the bulk of their ships to be drawn away from Teldrassil. Sending the entire Stormwind fleet after some escaping prisoners and leaving the city vulnerable to attack by sea (or magic catapult) right after that would be beyond stupid.
Blizzardâs walking a fine line in plausibility here: Stormwind has to lose enough ships to make them need to negotiate with Kul Tiras, but sending out enough ships to leave Stormwind hurting if theyâre destroyed also is kind of ridiculous.
Anyway, isnât part of Stormwindâs âsuperior fleetâ in Silithus currently?
War requires risk. They still had soldiers, mages, and more in Stormwind. The Horde itself had extremely few ships as well, as noted by Saurfang.
Eh. I donât find it too absurd.
I thought that was the Night Elves that since took a beating.
Sure, but the risk has to be in proportion to the threat, or itâs just silly.
I mean at the Seething Shore.
Yes. And this was three of the Hordeâs highest ranking officers, if not the highest below Sylvanas, and the Zandalari diplomat that was seeking them out for an Alliance. Thatâs rather significant.
Maybe? Not sure whatâs still going on down there.
Weâll have to agree to disagree, I think. It seems like ridiculous overkill to me. A ship or two, sure, but not the entire cityâs naval defenses.
When has the horde rebuild anything???
Horde still hasnât rebuild it self since the last time it was hit with the villain bat.
To be fair, they still had Jainaâs Flying Dutchman there in reserve.
They should have sent that after the fleeing ship, honestly. Especially since all of the supposedly powerful and dangerous escaping Horde figures wet their pants in terror at the mere sight of Jaina.
Actually, now that I think about it, one reason why I donât buy Stormwind seeing them as such a huge threat that they have to empty out their naval yards to chase them down is because of that Jaina scene. It shows that their power level is that of fleas by comparison. One ship should be plenty to bring them in, from Stormwindâs POV.
What would make you buy the scenario?
To be clear, weâre talking about a scenario where Stormwind sends out a large portion of their naval fleet to be destroyed, so that they can then be in a state where they need to entice Kul Tiras to join them and build up their naval power?
Itâs going to have to be a large-scale seaborne threat of some kind for that to make sense, for me. Naval attack, kraken summoning, Infinite dragonflight showing up to cause troubleâsomething like that.
I realize they probably tied it to Talanjiâs jailbreak as a way of conserving resources, but I donât find the story convincing.
You really think that was an Alliance moment? We were guess stars in the Hordeâs civil war.
As you learn more about his character, at least before Chronicle, heâs a surprisingly sympathetic man.
I was not advocating the scenario I laid out as a preferable state of affairs to the current story as I realise itâs just shifting the problem to the Alliance and that would be unfair. I was merely trying to point out that, to some at least, it is not the way Slyvanas is acting that constitutes villain-batting but the way the story has been framed.
So let us be guest stars in yours? Itâs only fair.
If you were to raid an Alliance city, itâll be as villains. There will be a fight where youâll have to kill a paladin as heâs protecting orphans.
If thatâs what it takes to cull some of the human paladin population I support it.
The TNR program isnât working because apparently holy magic fixes that.
If thatâs what it takes to remove the last Anduins of the faction, and get us some Daelins, you got a deal.
