7700k + 3070ti... good for Dragonflight?

Hey guys… I don’t feel like upgrading this PC yet… however, it’s time to upgrade my GPU since it’s so outdated and the fans are dying anyway…

But will this bottleneck somehow? I only play World of Warcraft on this PC… am I good to replace my 1080ti with the 3070ti while having 7700k cpu?

thoughts? anything would be helpful thanks!

And which type is better:

MSI GeForce RTX 3070 SUPRIM X 8GB LHR GDDR6 Gaming Graphics Card

or

ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 3070 Ti AMP Holo 8GB GDDR6X

Yes, should be fine. If you’re able, I’d give the 7700k an overclock.

If price isn’t a factor the Zotac card is better. Though you don’t really need that much gpu power to run WoW at the end of the day. Listing the prices will get you a more accurate answer. The 3070ti isn’t significantly better than the 3070.

Well Blizz has already released system specs for Dragonflight

So according to those yes you are good 2 go. As Aquorius already said there is not a huge difference between the 3070 and the 3970ti. So for the most part it comes down to what your video card budget is.

You’re bottlenecking that 3070ti quite a bit, If you’re able to grab a 10400+ Intel CPU or 5000+ AMD CPU I would.

Other than that you’re more than fine even with a 1080ti.

If you upgrade the GPU upgrade the CPU though that bottleneck is insane. You’re barely getting away with a 7700k/1080ti combo.

The other posts about the 3070 ti are right. Based on the 7700k, I’m assuming your ram is around DDR4-2600 on a 170 or 270 board. Upgrading to a 3070ti would be an improvement, but it would also be overkill.

Essentially, you’d be maxing out your setup, but not gaining the full power of the GPU. Unless you plan on building a system around the 3070 (which I wouldn’t recommend) I’d look for a cheaper 2070 or a 3060.
