7150 is too much residuum for a specific piece

We have identical gear and progression and yet my logs are wayyy better. Listen to me you’ll learn a thing or 2. I been using high noon all tier and it works just great

So what’s Blizzard plans to address this issue?

Nothing. They don’t think it’s a problem.

Wish they would just go back to valor and justice points. Not only did it give you something worth saving up for but it gave people reason to do obsolete content. Everyone was running a random heroic dungeon per day in WOTLK for example so they could get their valor points. Plus the Justice points had alot of uses outside of gear upgrades such as tradeskill mats and heirlooms.

That was a heck of alot better system than what we have now.

I can’t put my finger on it but WoW started feeling more like rift, early Legion and it’s way more like it now than ever… with some other crap systems from other MMOs and Diablo thrown in.

Meh. Me wasting the energy to type this is like pissing in the wind.

@Bornakk It’s been a week since you asked a question. Curious what your response to the answers are?

Response? The question was designed to make you feel as though you participated in something. It’s community management. Throw them a bone, even if it’s hollow.

He was probably just trying to be nice and interact with the community. This topic was created at least a dozen times even before the vendor went live. They don’t care. They want to maximize playtime. I’m sure they realize that if you wanted to target 3x specific you would have to complete a +20 key every week and that would be just before the season ends. Assuming you get about 1k per week that’s at least 20 weeks. A season might last 5 to maybe 6 months tops.

If you want the real reason it has to do with maximizing and extending playtime as much as possible. You are not going to get that answer from a CM. If they reduced the cost they would have to justify it in some way that would also please the shareholders.

There are 385’s better than a lot of the 415’s. It takes way to long to make balance passes with azerite traits. To many dead traits exist as well.

Speaking of rolling the dice, why not allow residuum as an additional reward for bonus rolls instead of AP? 500AP is insulting considering the cost of a bonus roll or weighed against a potential 415 upgrade.

After I saw the vendor prices, and the amount of Residuum you get for each piece scrapped I never bothered to invest in it. The gear I could use is at the item level that yields any relevant value.

I’ll probably get a 415 piece before I get enough material to buy one.

hey guys

it’s still too much

Meanwhile I logged in wow last week for allied races, did the warfront because it was up and got a 400 ilvl azerite piece with pretty good traits.

Are ppl still grinding residum ??:rofl:

they didnt add in the buy a legendary vendor in Legion until the final raid tier was 2 months over.

yes they did

I’ve bought a number of randoms, someone I talked to at some point did the math on it, the likelihood of you getting what you wanted from the random was faster then you saving to buy the specific mathematically.

there is also a opportunity cost that must be equated

would you buy that BiS 415 piece the last week before new patch release?
would you buy that BiS 415 piece after your guild/raid has finished progressing?

because the amount of use the item will get should be apart of your equation, especially if the next raid tier still uses titan residuum and you have to choose between buying your old 415 biS piece and waiting another week or 2 to buy your NEW BiS piece.

This is a perfect example of how I look at that armor. I looked at the vendor then shrugged and walked away. It will take me so long to get that much of residuwhatever it isn’t even worth my time to bother thinking about it. I’m too RNG-ed out to be interested in the random, slot machine, hope you get what you want piece for less.

Well this is exactly the case. I think that light at the end of the tunnel was an illusion put there to make us feel better. Something we were never supposed to actually achieve. The random pieces sure. More RNG like the rest of the game is spitting out all over the place. Chances are you won’t get the piece you want or need. Same as everywhere else you obtain gear from in the game.

This. Perfectly said.
