Most people I know just ended up quitting this expansion. Trying to get to 80 is just a mindless slog that stops you from playing with everyone else and takes way to long.
wut?
It takes like 7-10 hours depending on how you do it.
Man some of you wouldn’t have liked Wrath, when 70-80 took like a week.
In TWW? If you think that’s a slog I don’t know what to say.
especially with the anniversary event going right now!
Obvious troll but still worked
Right? With TW it take on average 3 hours depending on queue times for me. Less if there is an extra 10%.
If the leveling to 70-80 is the tipping point for quitting, wow isn’t for them, or you if you think it takes way too long.
What?
7 hours is a lot longer than I have seen for 70-80. Clearing the delves alone is usually nearly enough to max when you turn in the quests+some first crafts. The anniversary for +20%xp and timewalking blows that out of the water too
it’s a slog for many because a) they don’t embrace the process, so they b) grab that ONE THING to do over and over and over and over to level.
(Like, say, constantly running TW again and again, or whatever the leveling meme is at the moment.)
Honestly, I’m not much of a fan of leveling anymore. The buff helps but I think for every one character you get to cap you should be able to boost another up to cap for free.
The anniversary event helps immensely though.
70-80 is like… 15-20 TW dungeons. I didn’t count them, but it’s hardly anything.
calling it a slog is hilarious.
For me, in many ways, leveling goes too fast. I personally love leveling and questing and would be fine if it took a bit longer, but then I don’t race to the end game as there isn’t much there I want to do. I only speak for myself of course.
I do this with the Dread Pit delve when it’s the dwarf cluster one. Monotonous, but effective. Feels better than questing 70 to 80 for me.
This has to be rage bait.
I must have missed something because it was so fast for me I hit 80 before I even left Hallowfall, and this was before the anniversary xp bonus. I guess it’s all about perspective though. I originally leveled in Vanilla where getting 60 took having to stand in Silithus and grind scorpions because quests ran out, so this is fast for me. To a newer player though it may feel like a slog.
Bro, 70-80 is half a day of questing (campaign quests) and like 4-6 dungeons, depending on if you have full warband XP buff. That’s not long at all. This isn’t the time in the Expac to sit around at an inn and try dungeon spam to get 70-80. People are still doing other, more fruitful stuff than normal dungeons.
Leveling in retail has rarely been easier than it is currently, as the new Expac seemingly has been streamlined to get you from 70-80 as quickly as possible while still experiencing all of the campaign. Maybe in another 3-4 months dungeon spam will be the fastest leveling route again.
But let me finish by saying, give the campaign a go even if you don’t care for questing. Once you get used to Dragon riding, the zones are pretty cool and offer unique aesthetics. Each zone has a pretty solid story that all connect at Nerub’Ar. And, I have traditionally hated questing (still can’t bring myself to level through question in old expacs) I thoroughly enjoyed questing through Khaz Algar. To the point I went out of my way after hitting 80 to do every quest in the zone.
Prolly a pvp’er. I leveled my alts through pvp so far its been 3 weeks. Almost done.
just wait til you hit end game and take about as long to upgrade 1 piece of gear fully as 70-80
Pretty sure it was more than 1 week, more like 2 weeks depending if class can mass pull and aoe
25% account buff - 10% anniversary buff 10% darkmoon - thats 45% buff for xp. it takes me about 2 hours to get from 70-80 and thats just doing dungeons
Most people you know don’t seem cut out for an MMO… or many games if 7 hours is too long for them
