Final boss down and the guild goes on hiatus … this seems to be a pattern I’m encountering again and again. I’d like it to stop. Please help …

Look … I don’t care if the guild is AOTC or CE focused … I don’t care if the guild runs keys on off-nights … hell, I don’t care if the guild still uses Ventrilo … what I do care about is joining a guild that continuously recruits to maintain a healthy and active roster of competent raiders, dungeoneers, and delvers.

Just to double click in to this a bit more, here are things I’m not looking for:

  1. Casual guilds with hundred of members.
  2. Guild officers who say things like “can’t raid tonight, studying for an exam tomorrow”.
  3. Guilds full of parse goblins.
  4. Day and/or late night raid windows.
    … and to reiterate …
  5. Guild officers who say things to the effect of “we want to be a mythic guild” yet will only maintain a roster of 12 raiders who go on hiatus when the final heroic boss is downed.

Gentle Caress is a newly formed guild of old friends looking to grow a positive and fun social environment with healthy progression. We have all been playing for years together and decided to form a group of like-minded individuals. As we grow our roster, our main focus is going to be Mythic+ (majority of us are at 3k) and PVP, however we desire to push into raid in the future. We all have AOTC and mythic experience, but it’s all about having fun at the end of the day so we want that to be the most important goal.

Our raid time is 1-day a week on Thursdays from 9pm EST to midnight. At this point, it would be heroic, but we have goals in the future set for getting back into mythic for those interested.

Hi Kaidee,

Sent you a discord friend request. We don’t seem to share any discords in common (I do belong the the warlock discord among all the other class discords) so unfortunately Discord won’t let me DM you but hopefully we can connect later.

This is our guild copy and paste below. Just to address your concerns of longevity, while we are also not immune to some raiders chosing to drop off after AOTC is achieved, we have been raiding stably for over a decade doing AOTC + lighter mythics (and fielding the appropriate roster to do mythics after AOTC).

We do break between seasons though for a couple months. We don’t prog all the way to the end as we’ve found that “recipe” has helped our longevity, we raid while the content is fun and fresh and when we sense the bosses are getting too hard (ones that would require mulitple weeks of extensive prog), we kind of pass. A lot of us play multiple games, so discord is always having some activity even ‘on break’. eg last break coincided with Path of Exile 2 being released so had a lot of fun with that until Season 2.

Progression: AOTC 8/8H 2/8M LoUM

Malfunctional is an AOTC/Easier-mythics focused team which emphasizes community and enjoyment while getting bosses down. We raid 2 nights a week, the expectation is that you’re able to have fun but when it’s time to focus up you can play your class at a solid level. We generally get AOTC well before the end of a tier, so once we farm the heck out of it and easier mythic bosses, we also take a bit of a break before the next tier to come back refreshed!

We’re primarily looking for just a couple DPS or a healer.

Our guild Enshadowed is always recruiting with the ultimate goal of sustaining active invested players who call our guild “home”.

We are always looking for more raiders and friends who want to achieve AOTC/Mythic and push keys. More so for keys as we try to have an active community and mythic plus has been a big source of our guild content. We are already 8/8 heroic and will looking to start some mythic bosses this week. The AOTC season is just to short for us to stop but we are not killing our selves for CE - just to see how far we can go with no stress. Hey Kai, we are urgently looking for an “all three” Warlock for our CE Mythic team and I am hoping the times line up!

If you are interested in an active and social place to call home, you may enjoy a guild like ours — small, close knit, but fun! I run this guild with my husband as my Co-GM. However, we are a Pacific Time based guild and it seems there is a shortage of guilds on that coast, but it does suit some MST/CST/EST players that work second shift, have spouse/kids to tend to, or simply are night owls. Currently we have roughly ~50 active members that make up roughly about ~170 characters (some are admitted altoholics!).

If raiding is what you’re looking for, we have two teams — a Mythic CE team and a Heroic AOTC team. The Mythic raiding team, Olympians, runs on TUE/THUR from 8 PM to 11 PM Pacific for Liberation of Undermine and pulls from the Heroic team when spots (provided they meet the minimum requirements and class/spec combinations) are open or for bench when those members are on vacation or aren’t available. Many of our folks from the Mythic team also run (on alts/main) our Heroic raiding team, Prophets — on WED/FRI from 8 PM to 11 PM Pacific. We also occasionally run an open PUG Normal raid on Sundays (Pacific Time). Right now we’re looking to start to build a healthy bench for these raid teams as well, which helps those with limited time to access that content on the occasion they are needed to fill spots.

Aside from raiding, we constantly run delves and dungeons and there are several M+ runners and M+ static teams in our guild to go through that journey. We are also a social guild and encourage everyone to participate in Discord (our guild chat isn’t as active admittedly, as is with most guilds) which is our main hub for all our events! We host things like Cards Against Humanity, Truth or Dare, Pictionary, or TV/Movie watch parties too! There is always a few folks sitting in Discord to chat with too (mostly afternoons and evenings of course cuz we’re adults and work!), but not so many that it overwhelms.
