Nothing in Wrath was the doing of Ner’zhul or Arthas. The Jailer is the dark influence behind the Helm of Domination. He corrupted Ner’zhul and Arthas.

The engine of death broke back in Legion. It’s likely something to do with Helya. Probably the Lantern which looks to be of First One origin.
