60 mage struggling farming lower instances

I finally got to 60 on my mage and damn I’m struggling. I’ve respecced so I could farm lower instances, i.e. SM Library being the 1st one.

I’ve lost count how many times I’ve died lol. Other mages make it look easy and rarely run out of mana…

How though? I can’t seem to bunch the melee/casters together. If I LoS the casters, the melee just whale on me till the casters turn the corner, i Frost Nova to hold everyone in place, but by that time my Ice Barrier is gone and the casters are now hitting me interrrupting my Blizzard and bringing my HP even lower.

help a noob out pls? I’m trying to farm some good cloth to work on professions and this is taking forevor :frowning:

I’m finding it underwhelming too. At least in BC the huge stamina boost gave us more survivability while gathering the mobs and in WotLK Blizzard was made the best it’s ever been (being able to crit and doesn’t break nova/frostbite).

Not to mention snares being able to coexist properly…
