Why is WoW capping my FPS at 60? I do not have V-sync on. I see others are having the same issue and a blue told them to reset their addons…
EDIT: I forgot to add that I do not have the frame limiter enabled. In any case, the max frames for it was set to 200 anyway.
EDIT 2: I think I may have figured it out. It seems if you triple tick the checkbox for the V-sync (and frame limiter as well) While hitting “apply” after each tick which should result in your last “apply” setting the features to “off” and then restarting the game, the FPS may return to its previous state - at least it did for me.
I hope this helps anyone else who stumbles across this with the same issue.

Mine is running 80 in the city and 140ish elsewhere.
There’s a frame cap setting that defaults to 60fps to prevent tearing on standard monitors. If you want faster you will need to uncheck it.
Forgot to mention that was the first thing I disabled.
Then maybe your actual gfx card has been set to cap 3D. Nvidia has this in its control panel. You right click the nvidia system tray icon, select control panel and then check your 3D settings. I don’t know if radeons have the same thing, but they probably do.
Thanks for the tip. I looked and no such setting was enabled. This only happens with WoW, though. Other games, such as Witcher 3, GTA V, and others run at their the normal frames I’ve always had for them.
Mine was 100 before the patch now dropped to around 60 so I’ll have to check as well.

The only other thought is the increased number of players in game does slow it down when they congregate in one area. We used to have that problem in high pop realms in Shatt and Dalaran. It’s entirely possible you’re capping because of this. I normally have to cap my frame rate to 144fps so I don’t exceed my monitor’s gsync range, now I’m only getting 80-100 in Boralus.
