This is the first time I’ve ever booted and I’m so frustrated and I’m already to quit again lol. Long story short. Long time wow player, however the last few exp I only dabbled in and did not play the last expansion at all. I just went back to classic and stayed there for a bit. However the new exp looks interesting. So I fired up my account and instead of leveling form now a 45!???. I was like WTF 45?? Yeah had to lookup what all that noise was about. to 60.
I was like WTH, let’s just get a boost and jump in. I had no idea it was going to be so overwhelming with changes. I find myself more frustrated then having fun. Even regretting having picked up SL. But I’m trying to get over it seeing how I done spent the money.
But the most frustrating thing I’ve come to deal with is flying!!! I’ve read so many different things when it comes to flying. Like you have to complete ALL covenant lvls?
Like as in 2 a week… REALLY? Then I read about covenant boots? or you have to do all of Patch 9.1 first, or blah blah blah… And I’m just over it with no clear answers.
Then I read it starts with (Chains of domination) and picking up the first move (ONLY I CANT GET THAT QUEST…
I’m over it guys… I need clear support from a fresh boost!.
I did do Return to Lordaeron thinking that would help unload something but NOPE!

No, not really. You’re doing something very wrong.
This all sounds like a you problem

To fly in SL, you need to complete all 9 chapters of your covenant campaign (the last chapter unlocks at Renown 22) and complete the Chain of Domination quest line until The Last Sigil (chapter 4).

I am doubtful boosting to 60 really has much to do with it - most of those things you mention are end game content everyone has to do at end game.

You can also complete the campaign in a day. Renown drops like water now, even if you are new. It drops from dailies, WQ’s, just about everything. There is no 2 week wait anymore, no matter what, to continue the campaigns. You can in theory do all 4 cov campaigns in a day.

Three things you have to do:
- Complete your Covenant campaign.
- Complete the first three chapters of the Chains of Domination campaign. Which you can do at any point. My friend is on chapter two of the Covenant campaign (which was the first one) and just finished chapter three of Chains of Domination.
- Hit Renown 44.
(Fixed because I was incorrect on something!)

At some point we got the ability to fly everywhere up through Legion. BFA had it’s own system for flying and Shadowlands has it’s own system for flying.
Question is, if you don’t want to play BFA or Shadowlands, why do you care if you can’t fly there? Your boosted to 60 and you can now start DragonFlight when it launches.

Shadowlands is very story oriented. In order to get to fly, you must complete the covenant campaign and then you can do Chains of Domination. There’s no cap on it right now involving how often you can do these quests because of the point we’re at in the expansion, but yes. You must do the narrative.
Edit: Nevermind, it appears that was also changed. Listen to Thalia.
This is the most important part.

My friend is so lost on the storyline, because he didn’t have the renown for the next chapter of the covenant campaign. So instead of the game telling him that, it told him to go do Chains of Domination in order to continue the Night Fae campaign.
Now he’s all sorts of confused. They really didn’t explain things well.

Ah… well that’s silly, since the two campaigns aren’t tied to each other anymore. I shall fix my posts! Sorry for the confusion! My bad!

No worries! I got confused myself so I went back to check just in case I was wrong. I got the chapter number for The Last Sigil wrong anyway fml.

I blame Blizz! It’s so confusing if you’re a returning or new player.

I think they should’ve added a way to get Flying in Zereth Mortis, instead of forcing people to go back and do Korthia.
so you havent played in several years and are surprised things have changed?
Wait, isn’t every achievement for Unlocking the Secrets done in ZM?
I meant flying in the old Shadowlands zones.
Ahhh ok. I got confused. I thought you meant flying in ZM. My bad.
I think this was everybody’s reaction. I’m still wishing they would tell me the level squish was a joke and let me go to 140 next xpac lol
