i get why they want a 6 sec pet rez because of the tower but its going to kick any bm and suv hutner out of raids because their damage is based off of them having pets out so if their pests dies its 6sec of no damage.
in pvp especially in arena if they train your pet as bm the game is over for you and in bgs if your pet dies.my advice for blizzard is 3 secs at least.i will not play a hunter in sl because of the 6 sec pet rez.
There has been a great big discussion on why this is terrible, and should be a no-go for PvP here:
PvE wise, it sucks plain and simple, but it is more managable. I mean I use pet growl in M+ all the time if a tank needs relief for some ability or hit, or if tank DC’s for a sec etc and my pet can die from that so I enjoy the 2 sec rez to keep going after that. It would make having to use our pets as relief more of a pain because we will be out 6+ seconds of damage with GCD. It’s managable, but it just takes our viability away.
If a Hunter’s pet dies in a raid, you probably shouldn’t have brought them anyway. Hunter pets shouldn’t have really any damage done to them. If they do, that is on the Hunter.
Besides, if the pet dies, you already have to wait 2 seconds. That is 2 seconds of no DPS to bring the pet back. Is that not a problem for the group already?
Understand that I am not advocating the 6 second rez time. It is a mistake. I just think you are way overblowing it for PvE.
bm you have to HAVE pet out and suv hunter you HAVE to have a pet.
you know how picky m+ groups are and mythic raids are why give a bm or suv hunter a spot if there is a chance there pet dies and thats 6sec of them not doing mechanics?they will take any dps thats not a hutner.
you think in a m+10 a group is going to wait for 6 secs so your pet can rez during a fight?..you wont get a spot.
Because that’s better than spending a battle res.
Seriously, Hunter pets are tankier and take less damage than melee dps. A lot of abilities simply just don’t even hit them. Something that kills your pet would also kill any melee dps. Which means pets simply don’t die.
My pet might die every now and then on M+ if it’s a skittish week, and that’s about it. Players die way more often to that than my pet does.
Not that I like 6 second ress, it sounds annoying. But your argument is complete lies. Or if your pet dies often then you’re doing something wrong. My pet doesn’t die.
If I recall correctly, there have been other expansions where pet rez cast time was significantly longer than now. Since pets take very little damage from AoE and shouldn’t be drawing aggro unless you specifically want them to, this shouldn’t be too hard to work with. You just have to pay more attention to your pet. It is rare that my pet ever dies, and if it does it’s a major f-up for me, anyway.
These would be true if the pet really has a chance of dieing. Pets have been largely immune to indirect dungeon and raid mechanics for a while now. If a pet dies in a dungeon or raid, that is usually the fault of the hunter.
If they start making mechanics that actually hurt pets in dungeons and raids to the point where they easily die regardless of what the hunter does, then your concerns would be valid.
There’s certain abilities that hit “nearest melee” and this includes hunter pets for some reason.
I’m just hoping MM is viable in M+ this go around. I prefer it, and the only reason I play BM in keys is because the AOE is superior. With the target cap that should lower it a bit.
