One of my long time ex-rbg mates got hit with a 6 month suspension till June 2023 for “player reports” and he played nothing but BGs at 70. He was initially charged with hacking (wtf??) but got overturned to “reported by players” after an appeal. How crazy is that Blizzard can randomly slap some reason and suddenly change it like it’s nothing??
Edit: Don’t know have his conversations with CS but got his ban emails from hacking to player reports.

Blizzard’s game, Blizzard’s rules. However, I very much doubt there was anything “random” about their reasoning. Either you or your friend (or both) have left out some vital information.
seems like missing details…BUT…there have been a list of stories where bliz has OVERREACTED, said they werent going to relent onthe punishment, then ended up backing down any way once someone kept pushing for a REAL investigation of events.
