I can maybe be ok with them removing layers, but simultaneously removing the restrictions on transferring and creating characters on mega servers at the same time?

Wtf are they even doing?

Basically this. All Full servers can expect hours queues soon… and then stupid layering again…

The people who manage Classic have 0 foresight.

Welcome to classic. Vanilla didn’t have layers #nochanges.

Looks like it’s time to put my credit card payment into a queue too!

whitemane 100%, and half of the players taking up server slots will be bots and goldsellers.

So which Vanilla servers had a large enough population to have 100+ guilds clear AQ in a week?

They caved to all the whining from obvious goldselling alts whining that they couldn’t transfer their bots and mats to high pop servers.

Nah.

They need the revenue boost for the Q3 numbers. The deadline is coming up.

Now people who called their server home for a year will have the “opportunity” to pay Blizzard to leave the intentional mess they created. How convenient!

What a nice present Blizzard gave us to show appreciation to the players who stuck out classic for this long.

Arugal perhaps. Why Blizzard opened transfers there for both factions I do not know … unless they just want to make the horde 90% dominant instead of 75%

cant wait for all these crybabies to cancel their subscriptions

“Shadowlands is coming soon, if these idiots can’t play classic surely they’ll buy the xpac”- Blizz devs.

It might sound stupid to sabotage their own game like that… but they did it with HotS, with WCIII Refunded, over and over with WoW retail, and lets not forget them killing the drop rates in D3 to try to make RMT cash- a lesson they learned from supposedly, until they did it again with Destiny 2 engrams.

This company consistently makes their own games worse in order to try to sell you solutions or profit off bare minimal effort cash cows. If you look at them through the lens of a player who assumes games are made to be enjoyed by players you will never understand- when you look at them from the eyes of Kotick a man who could live like a king for a thousand years without making another dime yet still devours hundreds of employee jobs yearly to stuff more cash into his gullet it makes perfect sense why these decisions are made.

The man the myth the legend!

Maybe people just want to transfer to a large server for all of its benefits?
