217675 total horde (58% of total pop)
158318 total alliance (42% of total pop)

Start of the expansion was like 54-46.

Keep it up blizzard you’re doing great. In a few more expansions it can be 70-30

Devs aren’t biased toward the Horde at all, nope. Totally equal.

Let’s strive for 30-0. As in, no Alliance and no elves.

Give the Alliance some High Elves or give it death.

By the time RealmPop and its superior method of collecting characters stopped working a few months ago the ratio at 120 had actually improved slowly throughout 2019. It’s unlikely that ratio at 120 has changed much since.

Old outdated API

No, it was perfectly functional. Blizzard killed it with the AH changes.

Can’t really force players to pick a faction however.

A lot of Alliance rerolled Horde specifically to play vulpera. There wasn’t exactly a similar stampede of Horde rerolling Alliance to play mechagnomes.

Pretty much this, most people I know don’t play for faction pride, it’s more so just for aesthetics…

At the bottom of the page:

"* Population - amount of unique players that meet any of the two conditions:

  • has a level 110 character that killed something in Tier 24 Heroic Mode
  • has a level 110 character in a guild that killed something in Tier 24 Heroic Mode"

So anyone who exists in WoW that doesn’t at least raid heroic doesn’t count?

I hope the numbers eventually go to like 100-0% but in reality that would hurt pvp a lot so maybe 70%-30%? For the Horde! wait i take it back lets keep it at 100%-0% so then there is no more development for alliance and it can all go to the Horde! Right now its like what 85% development to the horde and 15% development to the alliance?

58 to 42 is pretty substantial. Not healthy for the game in the long-term, especially if the gap continues to grow.

That is not enough of a difference to be significant, alowing for a margin of error.

If 42% of fortune 500 CEO’s were female, and/ or minorities, I don’t think anyone would have said things should change.

And yet the Alliance still win all the battlegrounds

Except the story on Horde side for BFA is garbage compared to what the Alliance get.

Questionable, but we dont lose as much as people claim

The bigger reason horde have more players is (obviously) racials, ye they have a good history, the races are fine, i guess, but dude the power difference of racials when it comes to, well, everything is so big. Oh look we worgens have 40% speed every 2 minutes, oh looks trolls have a 10% haste as a racials such equality. Thats the only problem that keeps the unbalance of alliance/horde, and if they try and buff a bit the alliance horde start crying a lot.

That was true during early legion and its what started it, now things are more balanced with potentially alliance having a slight edge. Similar how Alliance was better during wod due to the human racial

The issue rn is there’s no reason to move to the dead faction when the vast vast majority of players who do serious content that requires group are horde
