55 or older?

59 here still work full time job sometimes 50+ hours
still play WOW and enjoying life and haven fun, wont stop till iam dead)P

I will be 57 also in October.

62 here, retired in Marchā€¦ early BC beginnings for me.

Nope, I donā€™t play in moms basement. I play in my study.

I donā€™t deal with bedtimes, homework, or zits. I do have to sometimes mitigate spousal aggro.

I am playing classic very casual. I do have an alt army in retail, whatā€™s this supposed rush to 60 about.

And no, I tried not to, but I did create an alt, and spent today playing it, instead of my classic main.

I am enjoying remembering what I thought I had forgotten. Who needs Questie.

Does anyone here remember MUDs? Yeah, Iā€™m still looking for the guy that kept leaving ā€œpoison piesā€ all over the placeā€¦ Iā€™m gonna catch him and Iā€™m gonna break his legā€¦

Ran my own player kill mud for years. Limited good gear. The only way to get it is to kill the other person and take all their stuff.

This. This is how I prefer to play. Clear trash? Sure. Itā€™s about the journey for me, not just the destination. Someone didnā€™t run back as quickly as I did? Fine - I have time to get something out of the fridge. And often enough I get lost, and Iā€™m the slowbie. Need a break? Fine - we all bio. I just donā€™t get the mad rush. Unless the serverā€™s going down and you want one more attempt before that happens, no rush! And if you donā€™t make it before it goes down - itā€™s a game. See you after reboot.

I am 45 and shamelessly allow my kids to play video games provided they aren in a sport and get outside. Fortunately its super balanced and they are doing really well in school, and socializing well.

I keep bumping into parents, not all the time mind you, who treat video games as strictly fluff, meaningless time wasters, who insist on isolating their kids from themā€¦before they lower their heads back into their phones and scrape at their social media.

Cheers to you Gen Xers ( im not sure if Im one) and boomers for paving the way.

I can only imagine the stigma was worse. Luckily, most parents my age can more easily embrace a gaming lifestyle and the kidsā€™ friends actually think Im alright for playing.

Isnā€™t it funny how as we age, there is a cultural norm that tells us we canā€™t have as much fun? Itā€™s stupid. I hope to change that.

I have a decade till 55, but I am getting an early start on that ageā€™s mindset and often yell at clouds.

Are they any casual guilds formed up and accepting new members that require a high minimum age to join? I see some talk of a few in this thread but canā€™t seem to find more specific information on guild names and servers.

OTG is still very active. google itā€¦ old timers guild

Iā€™m 63.

Pretty sure that means Iā€™m a boss.

My main ability is sarcasm.

Man old age can be a drag, I am 68. Would be fun to be 20 again. That said, age hasnā€™t held me back. I have climbed 3 of the 7 Summit peaks since I turned 60 (Denali, Elbrus, and Aconcagua) and until recently I have been playing competitive flat track roller derby.

Its good to see lots of older players like myself.

I will be 55 in March. I started MMORPGā€™s with a short sampling of both Ultima Online & EverQuest, but Dark Age of Camelot in 2001 was my first MMORPG love affair.

You donā€™t really realize it until you get there, but older people are nothing but their same younger selves trapped in aging, older bodies - though usually wiser, more pragmatic, less idealistic & more introspective as a result of their life journey.

Why did you feel the need to necro a thread about age and then write on about your lifeā€¦ you sound like 12 to me not 54
