I deserve free Veuve for playing the old INFOCOM games.

You shouldn’t be sad and intimidated that you feel you won’t last another decade.

Don’t be lazy. Put you mind to it, and you just might make another 10 years.

However, it’s going to take dedication and determination to make it as long as we have.

And cleaning up your Karma would help too.

I don’t suppose you ever thought maybe we HAVE done all that already? I mean, after all, we ARE old. That means we were around long before video games were a thing. Heck, most of us were around before TELEVISIONS! Imagine that!!!

As for playing video games all day, maybe you might consider that many of us are retired from a career and now have the time, the money, and the desire to play video games all day. Or anything else we choose to do.

I do a lot of crafts, I’m a jewelry maker, and polymer clay artist. I’m also disabled and thankful to still be alive after some major health issues. If I want to sit around all day doing whatever I do, then I’m gonna do it. Not that I have a choice, had my legs amputated two years ago, so sitting is well, kind of necessary  Before disability hit me and hit me hard, (MS if you wonder what) I never had time for the computer, and the last video game I had played at that time was Pong. I had that life you seem to think we all need to go out and get.

I also have 3 kids, six grandchildren, two ex husbands. I earned the life I have now, that enables me to ‘sit around and play games all day’ if that is what I choose to do.

I know, I know… that we have already lived all the things you can’t stop playing video games to start doing, is hard to comprehend, but so be it, its true.

Maybe you would prefer we just rot away in a nursing home? Playing Bingo?

Why wait to get your classic fix before you quit playing video games? Why not just quit and go do all those things you say we should do, but have already done?

Meanwhile, let people do what they want, and you do what you want. If that means skipping threads like this because you can’t handle the fact you are apparently a loser is your mom’s basement, then skip them. That is not our fault.

eh, I stand corrected, just googled when tv’s were invented…1927.

So I shall rephrase this part of my post.

I personally, did not have a tv in my house until I was six. My grandmother had one before us, and got it when I was four. I remember very clearly watching the news on JFK getting assassinated. It is a clear memory, due in large part to how my elders were reacting at the time.

and yeah, we had 3 channels. Rabbit ears and got off our butts to go change the channel.

I so love this thread, no trolls

Started playing WoW release week at the age of 49. Left before Pokemon and Pandas. Just re-subbed for Classic at the age of 64. As a side note, I do have a guild named AARP on Lightning’s Blade :stuck_out_tongue:

55 here. I’m calling Blizz right now and seeing if I can get my senior discount

Same here. Orc Shaman this time.

I just hit 40 a couple months ago. I’ll get off your lawn in a minute, I just wanted to say that I think by the popularity of this post there will be a lot more mature folks playing this time around and I’m exited for it. I’m betting that most of the younger crowd will be leaving after getting world firsts etc. It’ll be interesting to see how that affects ganking, camping, TM/SS, and STV among other things. *exits lawn

I was once in a meeting with a bunch of 50-65 year old corporate execs where we were trying to tackle some emergency. As we were leaving to handle our various assignments, I said “For the Horde!” and a couple of the senior execs surprised me by saying “Lok’Tar”.

56, and that looks to be the average for most of the Horde I’ve met in game.
Good times with people that understand how important good times are!
