Most of the upgrades my recently leveled characters got were for heirloom slots or other specs I wasn’t playing. Only a few were usable, so overall it was demotivational.

seems like most of the rings I got while leveling as a tank were either no main stat or intellect. I did get a tanking ring on a priest though. That was so special I saved it.

If you’re like me and one of your rings has a socket, get ready to not get a replacement for a long, long, long period of time.

I’m stuck with 385 rings because they have perfect stats and sockets.

I find it hard to believe a 55 ilevel upgrade on a ring is not an upgrade.

For many classes, secondary stats are worth more than main stats. And 55 ilevels is pretty huge. Did you sim it or do a gear compare with raidbots?

It still think it is funny that world quest scale off item level. So stats really don’t matter, just get that ilvl up! I know wq aren’t for end game gear so it doesn’t matter all that much, but it is still funny the intro mechanic teaches something that isn’t right.

Judging by your achievements, you probably haven’t the foggiest idea how simming your character works which is why you assume a 55 ilvl upgrade in a ring slot is not an upgrade.

Like others have said, I find it hard to believe a 55 ilvl upgrade isn’t worth taking.

In general main stat trumps secondaries unless it’s a 20 ilvl or less difference a lot of the time.

Run a sim.

or assuming its the 118 char who got this for the OP run it to run the numbers game.

Better the ilevel (stated avg ilevel) the faster the RNG puts better gear in the rotations (WQ rewards and such). 120 I don’t get picky with gear. Take the numbers no matter the stats and see WQ rotations creep up the ilevel of the rewards.

Also op could you maybe tell us the stats of old and new ring? I have seen 20 ilevel upgrades be trash. 55 though…

Stats of ring and an idea of the build you have in mind might clear this up for some. If a versality hater for example yeah…a very nice 55 boost to it we’d see why you’d hate it.

Now some who like or need versatility would be going we wish we’d get that.

Got a big ilvl upgrade ring that had only intellect and stamina. Since intellect is useless to a tank, essentially it was just stamina. I never equipped it.

Sounds like you’re talking about obsolete content from some other expansion. Rings this expansion don’t have primary stats on them.

The thread is about old content, which now has ilvl upgrades. About half of rings do still have primary stats.
