Eh so does manual overclocking (or even turning on XMP) on my Intel parts, never stopped me
Meh, doesnât stop me. Even with manual overclock.
IMO nobody should be marketing a feature for their products when said feature voids the warranty. Pretty scummy
I donât think they actually enforce it though - Iâve read reports of people RMAing their busted intel chips and admitting to overclocking and they still replace them.
Gonna RMA my delidded 8700k after pushing 1.5v at 5.4ghz for science
Cause thatâs really the same thing as toggling on a feature that will literally be highlighted on the box of the product
No, itâs not at all, I was kidding.
AMD and Intel both do it (well Intel actually is worse since they charge a premium to void their warranty, with Z boards and K chips), but I think unless you do something extreme like delidding, they wonât (canât?) actually enforce it.
Like those warranty void stickers that go over the screws.
Donât get your hopes up.
OCing for AMD/Intel voids it. Just keep your mouth shut during RMA and youâll be fine.
Microcenter just updated their policy its going to be a lot easier if you have access to one. 1 CPU per 30 days instead of 1 per day.
No microcenters within 6 hours of me
That said, just scored a 3070 Aorus Master coming soon
Itâs a good card. Iâll get a 6700, 6800 or 6900 for a WoW rig.
