Trying to Xfer my mage to a different realm, bought the service but when i try xfer it it tells me…“This character used a character boost to recently, try again later”
Even though I didn’t buy a boost for it? Does the “Gear” upgrade thing that’s free count as a character boost or something cause that’s dumb. How long do i have to wait?
I believe it does count that as a boost. The mechanics of how it replaces your gear with a predetermined set is identical to the old level boost, right down to giving you a message while its in progress that says the boost is in progress. They apparently piggybacked off it to turn it into the gear upgrade. And yeah, it’s dumb.
The wait time after a level boost to do a realm transfer is 72 hours. So I imagine it’s the same in this situation.

No problem. To be honest the more I think about it the more I think this is probably worth reporting as a bug. Not that you’re obliged to or anything, but I think it would be good if you also popped this up on the bug report forum. At the very least it should give some warning to the player before they agree to the item upgrade thing that realm transfers will be locked for a time.
Someone told me that using the “Gear Boost” also makes that toon inelgible for heritage armor… yay Blizz for full disclosure and warning! 
Yeah, I tried again after 3 days and it was still doing it so i just got a refund
