Playing 4k maxed, on a 9950x3d /w a 5090. For whatever reason the game is only utilizing 20% of my GPU at any given time. CPU sits between 20-30% … framerate can be anywhere between 35fps to 235fps. I chatted up some guys ingame and they are all also only utilizing a small portion of their resources. Any work around for this?
WoW hasn’t been a GPU bound game for ages. It relies on single core CPU preformance, hence why it’s one of the biggest beneficiaries of the X3D chip lineup. WoW is the kind of game you can deadass double your FPS by going from a budget CPU to a gaming CPU, with the same GPU.
There seems to be a bad memory leak. FPS decay is really nasty, and is typically fixed on a restart. Your GPU will basically never be the throttle point with any version of WoW, unless your hardware is ancient.
Double check that the game is actually using your GPU. For whatever reason in the beta, the Auto-Detect option was defaulting to integrated graphics on the CPU. Manually select your GPU and it should improve somewhat.
But yea… WoW isn’t really a GPU game like the other guy said. And the memory leak doesn’t help. Lmao
I just relog whenever I notice my fps going down to 30s, it’s not a permanent fix but it’ll alleviate it for a little while.
I ran into that memory leak yesterday. Seems to happen whenever that default LUA popup happens, although I can’t be certain its related.
It will only use what it needs. its not a gpu bound game, never has been.
Turn off low latency and set secondary lighting to fair. Should fix it.
Midnight introduced a really bad memory leak and still hasn’t been fixed as well
You should look at what has changed instead of parroting off old information. Game has a really bad VRAM leak. Almost fried a drive of mine because of spillover write.
My average cpu usage is 1% lol
