I have tried using all browsers on my PC: Firefox, Chrome, Edge and on Mobile Chrome as well and regardless of clearing cache, cookies, turning off extensions and addons I still can’t seem to add an authenticator to my account.

Investigating this I do not currently see any outstanding known server issues. Can you please on a different device and connection? For example, try adding the authenticator on your mobile device with Wi-Fi off. This would help rule out a connection issue.
