500 attempts for 1% mount when does it end

That’s how I approach collecting mounts, with the mindset that if it happens…cool. Farming mounts with an rng is not fun for me, its like a mini game where your gambling with the hopes of winning. I don’t want to obsess, because not getting something I want makes me feel disappointed every time I don’t get it and frankly there are other aspects of WoW I enjoy. Also there are other games and pass times I can spend my time on and have fun.

From when ever it was available to drop to november last year 1-25 attempts every week i finally got it

Onixiya not the head. I rarely farm it

What did it cost you?

Look on the bright side!
The way statistics work, all those 500 attempts combined have increased your chance to get it on the next try by 0%!

The cataclysm drakes from Uldum were my nemesis. Both the dungeon and raid, I was throwing my whole alt army at them over and over, day after day/week after week across much of two expansions. I got them both in the end, but it broke me. I’ve never been quite as much of a mount-hunter since.

It’s not 1%. It’s 0.5%

Make more alts. Farm the quantum Courser instead. It has a 6% drop chance I believe. Blight of Galakrond is not soloable unfortunately.

I don’t go out of my way much for low drop rate mounts. People have heen grinding for Invincible for as long as it has been out. This just isn’t appealing for me.

But to answer the question I’ve been grinding for Ashes for as long as I’ve had this account, since MoP. If we stretch the definition of grind to be doing Tempest Keep 4 times a year.

Keep in mind the probablity doesn’t get any better. It is “with replacement.”

Every boss in Dawn of the Infinite is soloable currently. Maybe not for every class. Most require a high enough dps burst.
Iridikron requires you to heal chromie twice with a second or so when the earth assault happens.

Took me 4,000 kills to get infinite timereaver

I’m over 7000 kills on the timereaver. Plus 6 raid caches when it’s up.

I’ve seen it drop at least a dozen times for other people. I’ve given up.

I got my Tusks about 3 months before MoP Remix was released and then they gave them away for free (in a semi-famous post on these boards!)

But I’m happy to say that I actually DID want the Tusks as the “legendary” (even if not Orange) item in the lore of Warcraft that they are. And even though they were given away to everyone with an hour to spare, I still use them as a top3 xmog.

But it sure was a stinger when Blizzard did that. It’s one thing to just randomly make stuff rare. But Tusks are an iconic piece in the history of the game! Although I disagreed with the drop rate being as low as it was, it put emphasis on how important the item is for Warcraft as a whole. That simply isn’t true for, say, the Love rocket. There’s no reason for a seasonal item to be that rare.

Gonna have to doubt you on that bad luck protection. I’ve been farming Invincible for at least 10 years and I recently go it.

I got the BfA raptor when it was current content. Was shocked at the time.

Meanwhile I got 500 attempts on the wrath blue proto and counting.

I got Ashes of Alar this year, I have been trying on and off since Wrath for it, with as many as 35 characters.

The same day I got it, I got the mount from Jaina which I had been farming for about a month.

RNG is RNG.

Nah man, i have 20 toons, and when you run it every week its 80 runs a month, i usually get a 1% mount after about 3 months, so if you did 500 runs thats 6.25 months not 2 years

I really hate RNG based grinds. I’d rather a system where I have to collect an insane amount of some sort of currency, but there is at least a clear finish line and EVERY single kill gets me closer to it. :upside_down_face:

I look forward to Wotlk remix so I can get all those mounts in a painless fashion

I mean, it ends when you get the mount
