5% war mode sounds good - close the gap

At 5% war mode difference, you’ll have the people who really like the PvP-alongside-other-stuff experience getting what they want and people who like to keep questing, gathering, etc separate won’t have to make a decision about a 10-15 percent difference in leveling speed.

The war mode bonus doesn’t add anything good or meaningful to the game that couldn’t be made available some other way. Most of what happens as a result of war mode is not competitive or challenging game play.

Basically, the biggest cost of reducing or eliminating the war mode xp is to griefers–the type of mouth breathers who, on their level 60 chars, like to one-shot a level 51 standing at a quest giver.

If you love PvP so much, you don’t need any bonus at all to do what you love.

If you don’t really like PvP, especially when you want to level or whatever, you shouldn’t have to decide between a 10-15% difference in leveling speed.

If you’re going to tell people to turn war mode off if they don’t like it, that’s fair, but then the 5% is just another way to the same end. Either way you’ll have fewer people to PvP with. This paradox, btw, is why the war mode bonus is so horrible in the first place.

I don’t see how the same devs who took away the water walking mount just because you were afraid some people felt too pressured to use it often can look at the choices you force people to make because of war mode and call that okay.

Increase the experience rewards dramatically for BGs. Add honor rewards to the mercenary thing.

0% for both sides. Make it so only PvPers will want to go. Warmode does not need a PvE incentive.

0 percent for both sides.

Okay. I’m easy to get along with. I accept your terms.

The only real question is whether it’s better when players who dislike griefing are lured there for faster PvE leveling or if it’d be better overall if only people who desire pvp have war mode active.

And again, most of what happens as a result of war mode is not really pvp (where pvp is defined as a competitive player vs. player game play mode).

My buddy and I were getting destroyed by alliance last night. We did get a couple awesome revenge kills, but for the most part, were heavily outnumbered.

Yup. 0% for both sides. If they feel they need to put a carrot on a stick for one side, just make it bonus honor gained, so it’s an actual PvP bonus.

Didn’t we have 0% for both sides at first? And Alliance players whined because they kept getting steamrolled by dozens of Horde? Alliance PVP scene isn’t as active as Horde’s, so the Alliance PVP’ers are just going to complain when they’re getting wrecked 24/7 by the Horde’s greater PVP population. Not to mention Horde whined they saw no Alliance at all and Warmode was a failure and boring.

the point of the incentive is to get non PvPers to turn WM on. PvPers are already going to have WM on, and the incentive is to give the outnumbered side a reason to not just give up.

They clearly want PvEers to try PvP, which is why the incentives exist.

The problem is, most of the people in the overpopulated faction don’t actually want to PvP… they’re just there for the 10% reward and if they happen to swarm another player 4 v 1 while they do it, no problem.

PvP is just kinda one of those things you either love or you hate… and there isn’t really a steady way to immerse people into it.

absolutely.

This. If they have to have an XP bonus, it should be from fighting other players, or taking special zone objectives.

Being able to get a ridiculous XP bonus (say, 200%) if you could stay alive / keep an objective held would lead to some very fun, dynamic PvP scenarios.

Exactly.

If nobody turns on Warmode then maybe they should just let it be.

This is the answer.

Without ANY incentive, all the WM heroes would turn it off within minutes.

i like pvers in my warmode. they taste the best.

No its sounds horrible here is a far better solution.
No bonus, no special abilities in warmode, no overwhelming odds.
Warmode is just world pvp end of story.

It doesn’t incentivize any actual PvP, though. If they want people to try PvP, they’ll need to make PvP incentives, not PvE ones.

WM will be dead again like 8.0 if they do that.

Agreed. I honestly think there should be rewards for actually killing players in Warmode. XP rewards for non-capped characters and maybe a chance at minor loot bags of some kind of small reward (Coin, crafting materials, AP, etc)

Built around the first unique account kill gives a better reward and subsequent kills of characters on that account give less.

The flat % bonus only feels like a PvE bonus and there are far too many people who will go out of their way to avoid PvP while in Warmode for the better rewards.

I honestly believe that it would be of greater benefit if the % bonus were cut entirely and rewards were shifted to killing other players in WPvP.
