5 changes Holy priest needs for pvp

Intro: So I don’t have an issue with holy priest healing in PVP majority of these topics are about quality-of-life improvements that we really need because tbh I dont feel as tanky as I used to feel in past expansions.
1.) We need Greater fade back! for those of you who don’t know greater fade was a pvp talent that basically made us immune to all forms of attacks for 4 seconds and provided a short movement increase boost but it was not busted at all because it had downsides which were we couldn’t take hostile actions (couldnt attack or it would go away) and we could still be interrupted while casting heals during it so the ability was 100% fair I don’t understand why it was removed. To make matters worse it was replaced with an even worse version called phase shift which does the exact same thing but only for 1 second and it doesn’t have the speed boost. I feel like it only got removed because people were complaining about it but that’s crazy because divine shield never got removed and its completely broken since you cant still attack in it and people complained about that all the time in pvp and hunters still have their turtle but yet it’s so wrong for holy priest to have greater fade. like what? you guys do realize holy paladins can have divine shield and they are a healer? We need this ability back. It was legit my favorite ability, it was like I was Jotaro from JoJo Bizzare adventure using the world to stop time, it was such a cool ability and for it to get removed because player were complaining doesnt really seem right.
2.) Revert angels mercy back to its old version. Before the nerf it used to reduce a Desperate prayers cooldown based on the amount of damage that you take which made it a very strong defensive for healer priest in pvp because we are always the primary target. It was a great defensive to use when we got interrupted but now it only reduces its cooldown by 20 seconds so its not up as often as it used to be. Before it used to be available like every 40 seconds but now its available every 1 min 20 sec and I am explain why that’s really bad in a second.
3.) Give us soul shape! our mobility is really bad especially on holy priest. If we get gripped by a dk into the enemy team its literally game over! We basically have no way out and we’re like sitting ducks, unless another healer grips us in. Angelic feather just isn’t good enough. and fade removed snares but they can just snare you again, We need an immediate mobility trump card to get out of melee range. Previously in shadowlands this was the perfect way to counter dks and it also countered balance druid solar beam if I remember correctly, but we lost it once the expansion ended. this is a bit far-fetched but if you could just make this baseline that would be perfect.
4.) Give us back shining force! It was an ability that knock back enemies and slowed their movement speed, this was really good against melee that was on us and it was versatile in that we could use it both aggressively and defensively.
5.) Our mana regen needs to get increased. We are running out of mana way too quickly compared to other healers. If I remember correctly, it was nerfed due to the Dragon flight season 3/4 tier set in pvp and I dont believe it ever got buffed back up again.

Okay now let me explain why we need all of these abilities. Let me create a scenario.

  • So let’s say you’re in a battleground and you’re healing and then next thing you know your gripped by the dk but remember holy priest has no quick way out of that disadvantage situation and a bunch of melee is on you and your team is dying fast so you decided to use spirit of redemption and divine hymn okay cool those are both 2 min cooldowns now the melee switches to you once youre free but oh wait you use psychic scream but they trinketed and since youre out of serenity charges because you healed your team you used flash heal but the mage inturupts you for 5 seconds now you use desperate prayer but oh wait because of the nerf to it, it wont be up for another minute! OH NOOOOOOO! So you use fade which activiates phase shift but oh wait remember when they removed greater fade and replaced it with a weaker version of it that only lasts 1 second but your apotheosis is on cd and available in 4 seconds, OHHH!!! NOOO!!! and then you die to the flurry of melee and ranged attacks because you have no other way other counter.

Thats just one example of many on how bad it is right now for holy priest. Most of the time it feels like I’m a sitting duck and its just not a good feeling especially when we have all this good utility and it was removed from us. I’m seeing mists monks heal way more then me and theyre crazy mobile meanwhile its imposible to catch a pres evoker in pvp but yet somehow greater fade for holy priest is broken? like how? Give us back our defensive. Give us back greater fade! please I am begging you Blizzard.

A big issue for why it feels like we’re sitting ducks is because once we’re interrupted our options are limited and its only a matter of time before we run out of options. Especially with how low mobility we got. There has to be like a trade here, If we have to keep being the healer that’s the least mobile then we need to be tanky.
