5 and 1/2 hours of server downtime for what? 2 fixes?

Okay, so just to be sure I understand this. We had 5 and 1/2 hours of server downtime for a Shaman hotfix and the dungeon exp fix? that’s it? There was nothing else that was added in or taken out?

Oh and Anduin showing up so people can complete the Darkshore questchain but still

It’s almost like they have maintenance every Tuesday for minor stuff. Crazy.

Its almost like 5 and a half hours with 2 delays is unusual. Crazy.

You’re right maint only applies ingame fixes. hardware and servers basically run themselves and require no touching whatsoever.

Jesus guys, I’m being serious, get off the salt mine already. I’m not upset or anything, I figure if the Beta is still borked, then it’s all good that they’re taking the time to fix it for release.

It’s almost like you shouldn’t expect anything without Blizzard announcing it first. Crazy.

They aren’t joking. This is acceptable and is also expected in any maintenance schedule. Small support team is doing a good job. Learn to be patient.

Yep, that is why I diversify my mmo addiction  GW2, RIFT, EQ, EQ2, whatever it takes to escape the mundane world for a few hours.

Same, I went and played GW1 for a bit during the downtime, like, WoW isn’t the only thing I play and all, but it’s really sad to see that people are being douches about a simple confirmation. I mean, I expect nothing less from the forums but this is just insanity.

Have you considered fulltime employment?

This doesn’t add up. They probably tripped over other things they want to nerf.

It’s absurd that they baited people to come back for pre-patch, took their $15 for the month, haven’t released a damn thing, and now all of that playtime is about to expire and there was absolutely no reason to bother coming back.

Blizzard’s destroying 2 decades of goodwill with their fans, and their fans are destroying goodwill with their friends that they talked into dropping $15 for a month of absolutely n o t h i n g.

I’m fine with these longer down times. They are making sure they fix every or almost every bug that they forgot to fix during the initial pre patch drop.

The dungeon xp is needed since you could literally have War Mode on in some instances and still benefit from it and if your whole party had it on then 25% xp for all and all you have to do is re que repeatedly for hours.

Yeah, I like the longer downtimes, it leaves me wondering what got fixed, but today was 5 hours, and there were 3 fixes, and with how big Blizzard is, I just find it crazy that it took them that long to fix 3 things.

We all know blizzard servers run on magic fairy dust, maintaining an mom is kindergarten mathematics, Adding things is as simple as flipping a toggle and blizzard has no overhead or wages to consider theyre just greedy.

Patience is such a rarity amongst this community. SMH.

You have no idea of what was needed. You only know about in game fixes that effect players. There are many hardware, network, database and infrastructure maintenance processes that needs to be accomplished in a very short window. Blizzard is a smaller company that is doing a pretty good job at maintaining their infrastructure in a timely manner. This company employs like 4500 people, my IT building houses 9k.

You guys really oughta learn the definition of Patience and why it doesn’t apply here. I am in no way complaining, crying, or anything of the sort about the downtime, I just find it very very hard to believe that 5 hours of downtime only amounted to 3 fixes, that’s it.

@Vandrir
Actually, I am well aware of what was needed as I am actively pursing a career as a Networking Tech. Not that you would know that when you responded. Also, for the record, Blizzard employs over 9,000 employees as of December 2019, even after they laid off 800 of them in February of 2019, Not exactly current, yes, but it’s reasonable to assume they’re still around 9,000 employees even with the current pandemic.

But again, I’m not complaining about the length of the downtime, I’m literally just wondering how 5 hours of downtime only amounts to 3 fixes, given the size of Blizzard.
