I would like to make a suggestion: warrior specs;
1.Arms
2.Fury
3.Gladiator
4. Vanguard

What I am advocating for is the division of current iteration of prot warrior into two specs: gladiator and vanguard. Gladiator is a dps role class specialization that is a fierce and stalwart warrior that expertises in sword n board combat.

Vangaurd is the official tank spec for warrior and is how it is currently, simply changing the names I believe it is more suitable for protection given its class fantasy and our passive aura.

I purpose here what gladiators talent tree will look like by taking past existing warrior talent options (pvp&pve) and building a 15-120 7 row tree for gladiator spec:

Lvl 15: punish;shield bash; sword n board*

Sword and board: shield charge increases the critical strike chance of heroic strike and shield slam by %30 while it is active.

Lvl 30: bounding strides, dragon charge, double time

Lvl 45: dragon shout, blade storm, demoralizing shout

Lvl 60: avatar; sudden death, focused rage*

Focused rage increases dmg of next heroic strike, stacks up to 3

75: enrage regeneration; impending victory; warpaint

90: storm bolt; shockwave; menace

100: siege bleaker; anger management; war breaker

    • Shield Charge

  • 10 yd range

  • 15 sec cooldown

  • 20 [Rage]

  • Requires Shields

  • Raise your shield and charge a short distance to your target, increasing the damage of Shield Slam, Revenge, and Heroic Strike by 25% for 7 sec.

Maximum 2 charges.

Gladiator Stance
*A dauntless combat stance.
Increases physical damage dealt by 5%, increases Mastery by 50%, and replaces your Shield Block with Shield Charge.

I honestly would love a sword and board dps spec, but i doubt it will ever happen. Can’t do too much damage as a tank or itll get nerfed to the ground. lol prot pvp used to be so fun.

S&B dps was fun during WoD. A shame that having fun with a blizzard game is a no no now.

What I’m proposing here’s is not another tank spec, but a 3rd warrior spa spec with sword n board style combat that relies on defensive combat.

With the amount of healing a dk or pally has I don’t think it would op to beef up our defenses

Oh, I know what you meant when you proposed it. I just highly doubt they would ever do that. They haven’t even gave DH a 3rd spec yet. It would be so Freaking cool though. Imagine if a big surprise was in SL that all classes got a new spec or pseudo spec.

I’d actually rather see the 4th Warrior spec be a melee healer spec.

Melee healer? Idk how that would ever workout with our class fantasy without going over the edge.

Rage to heal? I don’t see it, unless we get mana .or some other resource however I don’t put it outside the realm of possibility

warriors arent allowed to be effective fighters with a shield, its blizzard confirmed lore. Despite being masters at arms warriors have absolutely no idea how to fight offensively with a shield and most confusingly have no idea how to fight with a small weapon in each hand.

Confirmed lore? I’ve never heard of it. Gladiator stance was so popular in the warrior community it would please many to see it come back, or possibly bake it into arms with the SB baseline in SL (suppsidly)…it may be baseline just till lvl 15

Actually I’ve wondered if this could be done. Switch out slam with shield Slam, maybe change one or 2 talents, and maybe add in a SMF like buff. Would give those warriors a more ready access to the ability’s that were part of the un-pruning. Loot options may have to be looked at as far as weapons go as arms would then have 1h, 2h and shields all on thier table but with personal loot i doubt the option would be hard to work in.

edit: quick though as well make it a 2h and shield we could have warriors that finally look like those we see in cinematic’s and some town guards.

I wouldn’t call it triggered, I’d just call it annoying to see the same post 6 times in a row.

In fact it actually does have a name that we could call it. Spamming.

so different people voicing a want for a spec that is being ignored is spam now cause that’s how smf got back in right by people not posting and just shutting up because people say Muh Forums bruh get over yourself if you wanna stop seeing “spam” on the subject maybe they should add it back into the game cause clearly people want it back including myself Updoot for Vanguard Spec Spam all you want cause it is a valid spec it is fun and it is being ignored

And maybe just maybe they would have time to do this actual fun stuff if they stopped trying to gimmick us into time wasting grind fest garbage systems they make up for one expansion like the bull they are trying to feed us again after we have just had an entire expansion of it
