A class being granted a brand new spec, mid expansion no less, is completely unprecedented.
This means that blizzard has the capacity to introduce 4th specs for every class as a potential Future expansion feature.
Maybe even stagger their releases over the courses of several patches.

They were always a possibility. They were just never a likely one, and they still aren’t.

Druids got their 4th spec in like cata or something, it’s been possible since then

To be fair. This spec was probably axed before evoker was announced, but they kept working on it anyway to present it later through the story.

Well perhaps throw balance out the window and chaos will ensue. But at least all classes should have a viable spec in the end.
Uff this will bring back so many of my old friends to play WoW and maybe a few new ones for sure… one of the main reasons some of them quit was because there was no new real changes to their class that dint involved borrow powers mechanics.
I have one friend that still sub but just waiting for 3rd Evoker spec to be release to play again…he said his been playing the same specs for years and after playing other MMO new classes (or Specs like in GW2 they add new specs in all expansions) his a little bored with the old Class specs… just doing transmog when he logs. He has so many alts he will have to do the Yearly Sub to be able to play all new specs! LOL
I miss my BfA and SL old friends…
Warlock healers would make all my wow dreams come true.
Except that guardian always existed as a feral sub spec.
They just decided to simplify it by separating them

I see it more as them changing some 3rd specs into a buffer/support role.
I fully expect one of the Mage specs turning into that. I’m betting that it’ll be Arcane.
Moving on from fourth spec to the patented ten steps is next.
I’ve been saying this since vanilla.
Shaman “tanking” spec please
Free us from “having” to play a boring/repetitive Druid if we want to play a ranged spec on the side
Perhaps.
But like I said, they could stagger release all the additional specs over time.
The fact that a class is released and marketed as a dual spec class to then later receive a brand new spec, with a brand new way to dps no less, is still unprecedented and can be carried forward
DH Void spec! I want to materialize flotting eyes or Wings with eyes to snipe my or ray down my enemies!
Or a Redemtion Light Melee Spec to heal/smite?
Or BOTH like Red Mage of Final Fantasy… that you keep using White and Black Magic attack that charge your combo mixing both into Red Magic but with Light and Void and we Mix to explode in FEL Chaos! Wooohhhooo!

Ok, ok, Ill tune it down I just had coffee and overreacting at this point, writing my thoughts in the forums! Sorry lol

Between the Warlock thing and the new spec they’ve opened an insanely large can of worms.

Yeasss!! Finally real change!!
I have to wait more before I start calling my old BfA and SL friends back to WoW!
Need to make sure at least the 3rd Evoker spec is live… so then I can then, feed them the dream possibility of a future 3rd DH spec or 4th spec for the Old Classes!!

The only reason this happened is because they had already started the spec but put it on the backburner to get Dragonflight shipped. There last new class only had two specs so it didn’t seem strange.
Adding a third spec to DH could be possible, but I highly doubt we’ll get a 4th spec for any class. That would open up a huge can of worms.

True… sigh… years of the reality of this, can’t argue with facts… But I did say “Feed them the dream of possibility” to my friends.
I know they still love WoW they follow it outside the game in Social Media, but they move on because of what they call: “No real significant change” (In this case these group of friends focus on the playstyle and having new option with their fav classes like they experience in GW2 and ESO)
I still think adding talent trees and lifting the racial restrictions to Old Classes is a good start. (IMO)
