Give hunters a 4th spec, Trapper (original Survival).
Give shaman a 4th spec, Earth Warder (tanking spec).
Give warlocks a 4th spec, Void Heart (tanking spec).
Give paladins a 4th spec, Inquisitor (ranged DPS spec.)
Give mages a 4th spec, Chronomancer (healing spec, reverse wounds etc).
Give demon hunters a 4th spec, Hatred (ranged DPS spec.)
Give warriors a 4th spec, Skald (support spec)

The only way 4th specs will ever happen is if they’re shared between classes. There can’t be 12 new specs but there can be 4 shared.

And I’m adding to that. It’s impossible to give every single class a new spec, there’s too much designing and balancing. It’s far easier to design a few 4th specs and have multiple classes share that spec.
Ohhh I like this idea a lot. So many classes In game that are a combination of two,
Blade master - monk/warrior
Shadow hunter - shaman/hunter
Warden - hunter/rogue
The possibilities of adding those cool classes you’ve seen npcs be is amazing and I 100% want this now

Druids have always had 4 roles though. Two of them were baked into the same spec and neither one worked very well.
You want to add roles to classes that currently can’t perform those roles.
Druids were a special case where they always had those roles.
Ps. Druids have 3 soulbinds for 4 specs. Plus the extra gear and conduits you have to get. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be.
As a druid player… having 4 isn’t as great as one might think.
Whether that means leveling another artifact weapon, farming extra memories, or upgrading a larger selection of random conduits.
I really only do guardian for group content, then feral for solo content. I think most druids pick 1 or 2 to play and the rest sort of sit there.
Negative that would be harder to balance lol. Shared specs would be similar to soulbinds right now in that they would just be additions to the class, which means certain abilities they grant will be drastically more op for some classes than others making it an absolute nightmare to balance.
This is exactly what happened with soulbinds which is why all soulbinds are lame now.. they had to nerf them all to the ground

Technically, Druid could have 5th spec, since it doesn’t have any offensive nature magic. Balance doesn’t count, it’s mixed of arcane and elemental abilities. [I know it’s actually nature magic, but it’s not the same!] Also, Resto is all about healing.
I want to throw offensive nature magic to my enemies! Think like Thorns pvp talent.

You laugh but a “Commander” support warrior that has auras, battle standards, buffs, debuffs, etc would be awesome. Battlebards.
