4th spec > New class

I dunno, it fits well with the Warlock towing the line of power versus self preservation.

They totally could for those few that make sense! But I’m fairly sure how players would react. It’d be just like allied races again and open Pandora’s Box where now everyone expects their requests to happen. And then gets upset when it doesn’t.

The handful of classes that get specs would be thrilled, but the rest would just be salty and come to the forums to cry how terrible Blizz is for not including their fanfiction specs. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: It’s like all or nothing.

It doesn’t. Warlocks don’t carry the soul of a demon to do that. They only wield fel, they aren’t infused with it.

Those were the days! Back when we could actually customize our characters the way we wanted.

A lot of newer players don’t understand what GC did to the talent system. Originally you didn’t pick a spec, you could spend points in all 3 spec trees however you wanted.

Then, in Cataclysm, they changed it so you were forced to spend all the way to the bottom of one tree, and couldn’t put points anywhere else, until you finished that tree. Then you had a handful of points afterwards to sprinkle elsewhere, but it really wasn’t much.

Then in MoP they said “this is bad” and got rid of it. Well, duh. They MADE it bad in Cataclysm. Probably on purpose so they could say “this is bad” and have an excuse to change it.

No one reacts well to anything ever. If we use that excuse all the time, nothing will happen. :woman_shrugging:

Wasn’t the original demon form based around shadow? It wasn’t until MoP that it gained the fel nature. And during that story we see what happens to a Warlock who delves too far into demonic power.

Also don’t Warlocks soul link with their demons?

I couldn’t see mages getting a tank, a support buff and damage dealer class that weaves magic into their blades now yes but tanking in cloth just sounds silly. I mean who in their right mind would try to tank in a dress?

Nope. The text on it says “turn into a demon” and it used Demonic Fury in order to be cast and used demon abilities. It also allowed the Warlock to speak Demonic.

No, they’re just under the warlock’s command.

As fun as a 4th spec would be, it’s a huge ask. That’s an entire new set of unique abilities for 12 classes. All of which need to be fine tuned for balance.

They could create a soft 4th spec that destroys the meta. Something that gives you abilities from other specs/classes that allow you to play role-less content.

“Necromancer” ranged spec for Death Knight and “Earthwarden” tank spec for Shaman are the ideas I like the most.

Having access to more ranged specs would be nice for tank players, it’s kinda lame that you’re “forced” to play Druid if you want to play a ranged-capable tank class. More variety is always a good thing.

Not if they only do it for a few.

I respect the thought but that’s not a good idea. You’d have a whole lot of angry classes.

Though I kind of think it’d be hilarious if Warriors got a healer spec that involved punching people back to health.

As I mentioned earlier:

You are literally asking for x amount of classes to get a special addition to them. Doing that is anti-business 101.

Warriors and rogues need a bow spec. It fits the theme for both warriors and assassins and it’s extremely dumb only one class, 2 specs, can use them.

How is that even remotely anti-business to add more options to the game?

I’d be ok with this. I think Warrior’s need a Blademaster spec that would be similar to that one dude on League who can shadow himself for damage. It’s Yasuo’s brother or something. That’d be kind of like a ranged spec.

You’re right though. They need ranged specs. All pure DPS classes need both melee/ranged specs.

Good luck in your career.

So no actual response and just an insult? Got it. :+1:

For that Shadowstalker Hunter spec you mentioned it would be easy . All of the old Range Surv Hunter spells would fill that spec easily and the few melee Surv can keep the surv name and those of us who lost the range version could a version of the spec we loved back in some form .
