4k lag spikes off your IPs

this is my MTR to the east coast WoW server.

for some reason i keep getting this really high spikes from blizzard servers.

the IP location look up on these puts them in Amsterdam when i’m trying to connect to US servers. so i have no idea why that’s happening

any ideas how to get this corrected? these lag spikes on the blizzard servers are making WQs not a lot of fun

Howdy Gravyspasm,

Looking over your test I can see your issues is happening here: et-0-0-2-br01-eqch2.as57976. net - 0 457 457 50 98 4352 54

We are aware of this issue and it’s being tracked along with the another node having issues. Our network team is on the case but right now we don’t have any updates to share. Hopefully though it will be fixed up soon so you can get back to playing normally.

I have also added your post to the tracking!

thanks for the heads up.

is it supposed to be saying my traffic is pushed out to Amsterdam when i’m trying to connect to US East Coast servers? I thought our nodes were in/around chicago data centers

Hey hey!

You should never be routed out of the US for the WoW servers if you are in the US. It’s possible the IP is just owned by a company in Amsterdam, but the physical node is in the US. This actually happens alot.

Now If the issues is a routing one that is what the network team is for and they will be looking into that. Sadly at this time we don’t have the information on if this is routing or just a node having issues but both possibilities are being looked into.
