I was doing the deep six brawls and I ran into a 475 ilevel fire mage (~25 ilevels higher than me). He didn’t even cast 1 greater pyro. He exploded me with regular pyros and fire blasts. Geared PvEers are scary in PvP.

Yeah, it caught me completely off guard because BFA trained me to watch out for greater pyros.
So, when I didn’t see him casting any, I was like… whatevers.
A few seconds later, I’m dead.
If you ever face a 550k+ hp fire mage, watch out.
i could see that for 475 ilvl tbh. i have only seen 1 fire mage ever not cast greater pyro before and that was in a eots and he blew up my friend in just a few seconds not sure what ilvl the mage was but ye i could see it
Yeah that’s the messed up thing about fire. When they combust they don’t need gpie at all. Their burst without is insane and all instant.
They’re also a crit-based spec, so they tend to -suffer- in PvP.
Have fire mages been suffering in BFA PvP?
Kind of. Frost is a lot better in PvP in terms of moving through a fight without getting facerolled. Fire mage has issues keeping melees off it.
