Watching streamers like Absterge go 4/6 wins in their lobby for a +0 reward gain is quite disheartening to see. I have experienced this myself and it is definitely impacting the general health of the PvP community.
Quite unfortunate to see this still happening this late into the season.
this has been explained over and over on the forums. this happens because someone is losing more than 3 games a shuffle in their previous matches. or in the healers case, because they went up against someone with a much lower MMR.
i mean in a perfect world everything would go right, queues would be fast, and there would be a ton of healers to avoid a problem like this. unfortunately its not a perfect world.
that dude is also always raging at the game, you’re going to have a more negative opinion about the game while watching him.

but i’m trying to think if league had this same issue, but all i can think about is all the separate issues that game has in comparison to this one. i mean if youre asking me to think of a game that is flawless i’m going to tell you that it doesn’t exist. and if you were to ask me how bad this game is compared to other games, i’d say this game is pretty fun despite its faults.
In League if your MMR gets out-of-sync with your rank you can absolutely end up in situations where you get a pittance for wins and tank big on losses.
This is the opposite end of someone elses post saying they should get points for a 2/4 split. For that i said know but they argued we should get conquest per win
For a 4/6 split, we should absolutley get rewarded, thats a 66% win rate for the match.
But the arguement of get conquest per round based on wins isnt a good arguement too. Many say that is how it works in 3v3, but that mode is very different. 3v3 is not just an outright sweaty zurgfest and if one person diesm the match doesnt end.
RSS is a different mode, with different standards.
I dont think its too much to ask that people win more than 33% of the rounds in a single match for to to count as a win. And if theu do, they should get rewarded with conquest for it even if it doesnt improve mmr.
I agree all games are different, and none perfect, but the same principles apply when it comes to reward systems. It’s a literal fact of life no one enjoys putting commitment into a game there is no incentives for. The overall lack of PvP engagement, low CR, etc., this season makes it pretty evident this is hurting the game.
I’ve played to Diamond in League of Legends and have NEVER been in a match where you gain +0 for winning. There are point gain discrepancies for sure, but +0 is unheard of.
I’d ask your exp but I’m assuming it hasn’t been very high and you don’t seem very familiar with its ranking system. If your MMR is out “par” in League, you will either get demoted to a lower rank or be promoted with a chance to skip divisions if your MMR is that much higher.
Even the top players in the world that are Challenger recieve points for playing verse lower ranked Diamonds.
MMR systems are updating elsewhere, and newer ones within the last few years are great.
It’s just that rated PVP is probably the absolute deadlast in development time. So why waste time writing a new rating algorithm when there’s more work to be done.
Most newer MMR systems take in-account of “effort” where you can still earn points regardless of loss. Might be small, but you’re actually getting rewarded for pulling your weight.
100% agree. i cannot tell you how many times ive gone 3/3 in a sweaty lobby and got 0 points . sometimes you just hope someone messes up so you can at least go 4-2
