44 player Lobby (plunderstorm)

That’s the lowest I’ve ever seen. Does yours always max out to 60?

I always get 59 or 60. It might depend on the time of the day or week that you play, or your MMR bracket.

Anyway, I am always hoping for fewer players to help avoid early clashes.

I’ve seen lobby’s with 9/60 players. The queue understandably never popped so I had to bail.

I’ve had some 40s … and it’s a MUCH better experience. Twenty fewer players means more Elites and general mob density so leveling up is a much better experience. You don’t have as many foolish randos picking fights/wasting your time in the first 2 minutes.

It definitely plays better as a 40 person match.

I like this idea. That would probably help a lot. I’d rather spend a little longer in a match if it meant a chance to have more time to get more plunder.

It doesn’t even take any longer. Just… all the time in the middle of the match running around doing nothing … is spent clearing mobs-- even ELITES!!

Maybe I’m weird, but I don’t like picking fights when I’m lv5-6, only have 2-3 abilities, and they’re all lv1-2.

I don’t need to be fully powered up, but …

A 40 person lobby may help decrease the lag players have been complaining about.

There’s like an internal timer that makes the battle start as long as there’s a certain number of players past a certain threshold, I think it’s around 40.

I’ve had many games with only 50-55ish players.

During the first days of Plunderstorm, every lobby was full.

Now it takes a little longer, and the battles start before we reach 60 players. Folks are finishing the grind.

I had a duo match that was only 20 duos, so 40 players in total.

Is there a confirmed MMR bracket?

I had one yesterday in the early afternoon pst that was 38/60.

I expect it’ll get lower and lower as time progresses until we near the end when there will probably be a last minute surge.

There’s some kind of MMR system, blizzard has a bluepost about it from the 21st of March hotfix.

Had a few 45 to 50’s but it was late into the night. The wait to get into the lobby took around 30 seconds and not that long to actually get tossed into the map.

But the smaller numbers did leave more plunder to snag.
