Youre more patient than me. Screw Blacksmithing, the devs screwed that profession up ROYALLY a long time ago. Funny how FF14 players have no problem navigating this “new” crafting system
Its only worth the trouble if there is a mog that you want that bad. Currently crafted gear looks like
& its not worth the headache. Aside from the “forced” intro crafting quests my DF Blacksmithing skill has been sitting at 15 and im not interested in the slightest in raising it unless im doing the Darkmoon Faire profession quests
Ill be at skill 25 in 10 years…![]()

Maxing out my Leatherworking as we speak.
Engie, Blacksmithing, Jewelcrafting, all done.
Inscription is basically done, maxing out the world items/darkmoon deck is a meme.
Alchemy needs a little more.
The system is brutal if you just started, I won’t disagree with that.
lmao.
Yeah anyone starting now has no chance.
dragonflight professions are hands down the worst addition blizzard has ever made to this game.
the 1 and only thing that delusionally makes dragonflight professions seem good is the fact that you can craft near max ilvl 486 items with them. which could of been done with old professions all the same. get a rare pattern, farm some mats, farm some uber rare mats, craft and put on ah. be done with it.
now you need to jump through endless hoops for weeks or months and or spam trade for someone that might have it, or take your chances with a laughable public order and get something at a base or mid ilvl and waste all your mats and gold.
as a beta player, i have never seen more mumble jumble and convoluted trash in my entire life within this game.
honestly, outside of being able to craft some 486 items, professions are 100% useless. they do absolutely nothing now compare to what they could or could not do before. all it is is a massive gold sink with a little shiny at the end, that being 486 crafted gear to blind the eyes of the delusional folks that think it was a success solely based of that fact.
in all honesty, professions were better before. because at least you could level them 100 times easier and faster and still churn out some good profits with regular old daily cd’s off of certain professions and get your master of all and be done with it.
Who wants to farm mats and patterns, its alot easier to goto ah get crests and have someone make it
sorry you have a different opinion. this is mine. it is how i was used to playing and liked playing.
remember when 10 man guilds got removed at the end of mop. yea i hated that. i was in a 10 man guild and we got deleted. i hated that decision.
remember when ranged survival hunters went melee? yea i hated that. i was a main ranged survival hunter forever and it got deleted. i hated that decision.
now see the joke that professions are? i hate this. and i am not alone. i was used to it being simple. and becoming master of all within the 1st few weeks. figuring out what was profitable and what was not. and just doing it.
and to further elaborate. lets take alch for instance. i had somewhere in the ball park of 40-ish alch toons. that would be 40 daily xmute cds. so for me and the way i played that was easy to accomplish. now? have fun getting knowledge points for 40-ish toons lol. profession are garbage now, to me, and players that played as i did.
I mean i played since vanilla, i think its better now
i get that. there are people in my guild that are with you. they love it. but for me personally and the way i played around with professions. it is broken. i can no longer do what i used to do.
remember back in the day with alch xmutes, bs ingots, tailor haxeweave etc… etc… well i had a multiple account alt army that i would grind out in those professions and do good. now with new professions it is literially, humanly impossible to do it on so many toons.
all new professions are good for is the fact that 486 items can be crafted through them. but everything else imo is useless. 100x more useless than before. imo.
Maybe thats why they changed it, theres other ways to make gold, you gota adapt to the new ways, nothing stays the same for ever
exactly. and that is why the game is in the state that it is in. 1 bad decision after another since wod onwards. the decline in population is evident. these new ways and changes to certain aspects is what drove tons of players to their ultimate decisions to just up and leave.
the game had a simple formula since its release in 2004. in bc they stuck with that formula and added flying and a few “new” dailies. at the end of bc around 2.4 fury of the sunwell the dailies were expanded upon which gave new life to the world. it was new and exciting. in wotlk and cata they stuck with this same formula, mop same formula and hell even wod. legion was the turning point. and now, today, we are left in the rubble and shambles that is wow because of these
Well i mean they had classic vanilla, bc, and now wrath… and wrath had at the time 13 million players, look at it now, wrath servers are dead… the generation that played those games are gone, you cant say that the players are in decline cuz the people that played back then are not the same people that are playing today, except well im still here
i cant help but feel, that it was the change in the formula that ultimately drove all those players away. the die dard, dedicated players. myself included. as i quit legion and bfa. pandemic brought me back and here i am barely hanging on again.
also imo, trying to keep the game relevant with horrendous changes to try and “capture” a new audience of players that got an attention span of a rubber boot, they unintentionally drove many old school die hard, loyal players away. that is imo. as i am a beta player and i quit after wod. it took a world wide lock down to bring be back. and i barely log in anymore either.
if you haven’t maxed out your profession after 425 days you’re just not trying, honestly.
Wonder if that was the actual point?
some of us complained about the systems, and professions actually make sense that we would actually put some time investement into it…so maybe in devs minds they figured if crafting is the ‘system’ now they could have their systems but at least make them have some semblance of sense to them.
I mean…that console crap in ZM…who thinks that crap up? lol
I used it maybe half dozen times, tops.
There needs to be a limit on private work orders. On my server there is three or four people constantly sucking up every work order. I asked them why they do that? They responded “is to keep new crafters from getting KP”. That is kind of jerk move. TBH
Private work order should be limited to three a day. This will spread them out more so more people can interact with them. There needs to be more sparks given out too. One spark every other week isn’t enough for all crafters to get work.
you are talking to me? or did you just close your eyes and shoot in the dark at a poster? nowhere in any comment i have made in this thread did i state what you are implying. you need to go back and quote the op because i believe he is the only person that said
hell it is even in his title. i simply went on about how imo how i think dragonflight professions are trash. and they are. give your head a shake and focus before posting.
Get some sleep

Sure but over a year? Just sucks.
not impossible I have maxed out every profession including knowledge trees at least once and have about half of second string almost with maxed out knowledge trees and those I only do hit and miss each week or they would be complete as well.
i should of been equally specific in that post on your quote as i was in my post previous to this. i was referring to maxing out and grinding on 40+ alch toons. which was what i was referring to as “humanly impossible” now compared to pre dragonflight professions.
