Meanwhile, shaman tanks exist. I know critical thought isn’t your strong suit, but c’mon.
Shaman tanks existing has little to no impact on whether or not it’s right to have 40 yd buff totems.

Like in PVP Horde Shamans always ‘remote drop’ them on the flag. So I assume they added that feature of being able to ground target totems to a spot.
How about you are allowed a single totem at a time. But you carry it on your back.
You can drop totems by ur feet then move them after yes. the problem is to get both str and AGI totem down is 2 globals and then to move them is another. While paly presses horn pre boss pull. Horde ranged hunters also get screwed because of this.

even with the 30yard range if you get placed in a melee/ranged hunter group as a shaman caster youre having to drop and relocate and wasting time on that only to place it too far in or something and then you have to relocate again.
super pita and pallies dont even know the struggle as their stuff is very large range baseline and the blessings move with the toon they are on.
also god forbid you are responsible for tremor totem or poison cleansing totem in such a group.
I suppose a QOL Book could used to extend the range ‘up to a maximum of 40 yards’. But that would mean Totemic Mastery would be obsolete. And they’re unlikely to allow a skillbook or ‘tuning’ to render a talent meaningless.
…hmm, suppose the book could be that it increases Totemic Mastery’s boon by an ‘additional 10 yds’.
