I can log into the launcher. When the character select screen come it is there for a second, then this 404 screen comes up.

I am having the same issue… its like the 404 thing and it has something to do with discord?

I think its a discord issue. Keep getting the same thing when I open discord it isn’t limited to character select.
edit: You can bypass the bug if you disable the overlay. Hope this helps, someone told me reinstalling it will fix it too. Havent tried that yet though.

This works. I was getting a need to update driver notification as well… removed the overlay and that went away too

Ok, so I quit Disc and ran an scan on Blizz. It wanted an update. I did that. I left Disc off and Blizz let me choose a character with no 404 error.
I loaded Disc and WoW seems to be ok now.

ya… it is discord issue… which I uninstalled it… and back on to playing wow

oh im so happy I wasnt alone in this issue lol…but how do I remove the overlay?
In the disc app go to your user name in the bottom left and click on the gear icon for user settings. Then at the bottom of the list there is a tab called Game Overlay, click there, there should be an option “Enable in-game overlay” turn that off and you should be g2g.
