No, you can’t, because none of your specs are for healing. Your ability to choose a loot specialization is determined by what specs you have access to on that character. So you’re a Death Knight, your options of loot specializations are Blood, Frost and Unholy (Tank, DPS, DPS).
So you cannot roll need on a trinket that drops for healers.
I mean, if clarifying how it works to people who clearly don’t understand how it works is considered ‘defending’ then yeah, I guess that’s a take.
except its the same system as before except your seeing the rolls done and people can opt out now where before you just didnt see it being done automatically
Except it is not when you can win multi items per boss now.
You could always get multiple items from a boss in personal loot. It wasn’t guaranteed, but it could happen. It was also possible during the token days to roll and get loot that way. So you could, theoretically, if you’re really lucky, walk out of a raid boss kill with 3 pieces of loot.
With the rules in place now, yes you can roll on two different items that drop, or two of the same item, but if it’s the same item and you win one, your roll is cancelled for the other.
Nope, someone would have to trade you a second item.
As someone who got more than one item in personal loot from a raid boss, I can tell you right now that you’re wrong.
It is possible, but it’s extremely rare.
I would like a screen shot.
Sure, because I have a screenshot from back during BFA.
Sorry, but you’re out of luck.
But you can find threads on MMO-Champion confirming that you can get multiple pieces of loot via personal loot, as well as threads on Reddit. It can happen, it’s just rare that it does.
So, basically no proof of this happening, gotcha.
Not that it would have been any different with Personal No Loot.
I’ve done the same back in the day after it was introduced, blew hours of my time, killing lots of bosses and only getting one or two items, which happened to be crap I didn’t need.
This is why tokens and currency are always going to beat RNG and loot rolling. Just make the final boss drop enough tokens, one for every person in the group, and make it so you can only get 1 per week, but you can pass on tokens and run the raid as many times as you like until you get a token you want. And maybe like 2-3 of them gets you gloves/helm/boots, maybe 4 of them gets you pants and body, 1 of them gets you rings/necks, etc.
That would get rid of a lot of this nonsense.
People only do LFR for the story bro. That’s what everyone told me.
Yeah I disagree. There’s a lot of dopamine response that happens with the need greed system that you just don’t get with personal loot. There’s no build up or anticipation before you get your item. Whereas with greed/need there is immense build up. And I’d argue it’s way more addicting.
Idk I ran like a few wings per evening over the last couple of days, got myself like 6 upgrades. Including a trinket, both weapons and some other pieces.
Yep, because RNG is RNG.
People are foolishly taking this out on the implementation of group loot, even though not getting a single item in a run was more than possible under personal loot as well.
“More than possible”… pfft.
Try “expected”.
Yeah basically.
I ran LFR multiples times on alts with personal loot and got nothing from running all four wings. It happened before need/greed came along. To go with that, there were other times where I’d only receive one piece of loot and it wasn’t even an upgrade. At least now that won’t happen since I won’t be rolling on things that I don’t need.
Stop implying that this is a unique situation that only now is a problem since need/greed was implemented. Hyperbole don’t help to make your point as much as you seem to think it does.
Yeah this comes off as more of a problem with the lack of a badge system (so killing a boss gets you something guaranteed, even if the RNGods don’t bless you) than it does a loot mode problem.
