2 weeks in emerald nightmare, and 2 weeks in nighthold?? wth…
You’re doing a quest that was meant to take place over a longer period of time. Nighthold wasn’t available immediately in Legion. Back on launch the gripe people had was that it didn’t work in LFR for the quest so they couldn’t get the appearance. People went ballistic as usual when it comes to things they can’t acquire.
Back then it was structured and paced in a way that was an afterthought.
It’s actually only three weeks since you after you finish the EN quest you can just run the Nighthold one in the same week. Unless you get really unlucky with drops, but three weeks will do it.
Or even 1-2 weeks depending on when you start the quest in relation to the reset time.
It’s not a big deal! Some things just take awhile. But considering that’s basically a legendary questline it’s about on par. All of those types have multi-week raid quests.
It’s a unique weapon appearance for every spec on your class, it unlocks for other characters of the same class, and it opens the door to three additional tints for each spec. If you want that then spend the time. It’s not as if it’s difficult.
Wait until you find out that the achievement isn’t account-wide.
Balance of power should unlock account-wide at this point. Do it once and get all of the mogs for every class. The grind was fine in Legion, but that was two expansions ago now.
God forbid you change mains and don’t get to use something you’ve worked hard for… It seriously needs to be account wide now. It’s almost been 3 expansions since it was current. Either pare it down considerably, or make it account wide. As it is now, you have to do nearly every bit of content in an old continent to be able to do it. It’s too much for an appearance now.
I didn’t do the work at the time. I haven’t done it since. It should just be sitting in my mailbox when I log in.
Seriously though, there’s a lot of old quests and achievements that take time to finish, and I would rather the devs focus on current content than constantly having to carve out time and resources to go back to old stuff to create shortcuts for people who can’t be bothered to put in the effort.
Except, we’ve already done the effort. Not one person has said they should give it to everyone that logs in. What we’re saying is either make it account wide, or shorten the chain if you’ve already done it once. All the quests are exactly the same for every spec. Doing the exact same quests 12 times isn’t doing anyone any favors.
Yeah, the time gating should be removed now that the content isn’t relevant.
I’m also saying quit devoting development time for old content. You can already do it much faster because you outgear it. I prefer developers working on new content, not having to go back tweak old stuff.
That is what I am reading.
I do not understand why so many people who play the game, don’t want to play the game.
And keep trying to reduce my content!
Blizzard does that well enough without their help.
I did Balance of Power on 4 classes lol, it was so painful.
Hard disagree. Blizzard needs to put more time into old content. There is such an absolutely large amount of content there that they shouldn’t just abandon once the expansion is over.
I’m not saying they need to make every old set relevant gear and add a new mount to an old raid every patch. Adjusting spawn times on rares/world bosses (or spawn chance on things like the Monstrous Spineclaw), achievements that require multiple people, and shortening time gates should be the minimum amount of effort they put into legacy content.
We can agree to disagree, however, it’s factually inaccurate when speaking of development time to say ‘effort’ when the reality is allocation of resources.
Those “resources” have names. Any time a company says they use “resources” they’re talking about using people. Here’s an idea, how about instead of buying more Bobby-Yachts, they hire more people to do the work. They might actually keep their timetables more often, and be able to do more.
The health of a business can be measured in number of employees, and when a business downsizes and overworks current employees, they’re NOT in a good position.
The fact Balance of Power isn’t account-wide 2 expansions later is ridiculous.
The fact we can’t earn Mage Tower recolors on toons of the same class that we earned them on is silly. (AKA if I wanted the purple feral kitty, I’d have to level my worgen druid, that I havent touched since Legion, gear her up, and somehow win 10 rated BGs. I can’t just use my Kul Tiran Druid)
The fact the Mage Tower recolors require rated bgs still is silly. They need to be changed to Random BGs.
I’m glad you see it that way, given your status. I noticed a post from December suggesting BoP being account wide on the CC Forums. No responses but 66 likes. If the CC members could boost those responses we might actually get some changes done to it.
Everyone can like the post, but we need CC member support:
Not only is this a terrible idea but it’s not up to you.
I really wish we could get a blue post. This conversation has been going on for years and it gets ignored. Its tiring.
