It seems to be bugged, I tried a level 80 book on my targeted pet. Both level 1 and level 25, I got an error message I don’t have a pet. Since the NPC is Breanni, it’s safe to assume it is not for hunter pet.
I spent 500g for one as I am level 80 and if I tried to return it, I got only 125g back so I’d lose a little gold.
Can someone check if this is supposed to work on pets or if the text needs a little rewording to clarify how it’s supposed to be used.
These items are not for battle pets, which were not added until WoD.
These items are relics of the past before hunter pets automatically leveled up to the same level as the hunter. Instead, they were tamed at specific levels and earned their own experience so it would be quite jarring to want to go tame a cat and have it be level 10 (maybe in cata taming a pet put it 3 levels below you, I don’t remember) while you were level 85. Since pets are automatically the same level as the hunter nowadays, they effectively have no use at all.
Ok the NPC or the books need to be labeled for hunter pets only.
Any way I can get the full refund or do I lose 375g?
