Some people are talking about to make 4 factions:
-Saurfang Horde
-Sylvanas Horde
-Alliance
-Nightelves
Would it be cool?
Yes, it would be cool but it makes no sense.
There can’t be 2 hordes and 2 alliances… It feels weird to think about it.
In the horde it is easy to make, just choose whether you want to follow Sylvanas or Saurfang. But it’s hard to make for the alliance. Can humans be part of the nightelves?
I think it is the wrong time to implement it. 4 factions would be cool… But i guess it wouldn’t be cool today.
When could 4 factions be cool and make sense?
Atm we are on a point where we can work with this idea very well.
It is the Classic Server.
On the Classic Server we will play a long time the Classic content of WoW and nobody knows if we will see more content like Burning Crusade and co.
When we will get more content after WoW Classic… Why should we repeat the way we’ve gone once and why not try other things that fit in the story?
Here is one idea of me, how we can work with 4 playable factions!
For first i tell you, what the 4 factions are:
-Horde
-Alliance
-Scourge
-Burning Legion
After the last content patch of classic, after Naxxramas, after Phase 6… We can continue the story in a beautiful, exciting new way:
Let us not release Burning Crusade, let us release WOTLK and Legion in one Addon!
When we release these two continents we will have one continent for each faction.
-Horde -> Kalimdor
-Alliance -> Eastern Kingdoms
-The Scourge -> Northend
-Burning Legion -> The Broken Islands
Maybe we can release Burning Crusade instead of Legion and make the Outlands to the home of the Burning Legion.
On this point we have great content and we have much potential to create a very new World of Warcraft.
The Lichking as Leader of the Scourge will be more powerful and he will not die in a single Addon, you will server the Lichking or you will know his true strenght.
What content will/can change?
4 Faction Battlegrounds
Atm all Battlegrounds are Horde versus Alliance.
In Arathi and Warsong we just can replace the structures to the one who is playing there.
But we can see very new 4 faction Battlegrounds!
Atm there are little BG’s and big BG’s (Alterac and Island),
We can say little BG’s is a 2 faction BG and a big BG is a 4 faction BG.
New Classes
Classes are very important but you know that in Classic only the alliance has Paladins and only the Horde has Shamans.
Also this feature would be a good point with 4 factions:
Only the scourge will get Deathknights, Val’kyrs, Lichs, …
Only the Legion will get Demon Lords, Eredar, …
Some new classes will be available in all factions and new factions will get old classes. I think it would be very cool!
PvP Warfronts
We could implement PvP Warfronts into this new World of Warcraft!
We can say that each week each faction can attack a land who is under the control of a other faction.
For example:
Burning Legion is attacking borean tundra (The Scourge)
You can attend the fight only as the Burning Legion or as the Scourge.
Horde, Scourge and Burning Legion are attacking lands of the Alliance!
The Alliance can now fight in 4 warfronts because they get attacked 3 times and they can attack a other land.
When the Alliance lost Westfall, Westfall is not longer in the alliance hand.
When Westfall is controlled by the Horde and get attacked by the Scourge then the alliance cannot join the fight.
What does it brings to control a land?
Maybe we can add quests that can only be done with that control.
We could add double XP, double Gold, double ressources…
Or special events…
What happens with factions without any land?
If a faction lost all of their lands we could flag this faction as dead.
When 3 factions are dead the last living faction will get a special reward like a special mount or something. And then reset the world.
Maybe we could give factions with lower playerbase or few lands a bonus, so that they can win easier.
Contracts
When we have 4 factions there are too less player to find a raid or a battleground or something… right?
NO! Because we have Contracts!
In each week your character can sign a contract with an other faction.
This contract will end on wednesday when all other ID’s are resetting.
You can only have one Contract with only one other faction.
While this Contract is active you are not only in one faction, you are in 2 factions! When a horde character sign a contract with the alliance, he is still horde but he can visit alliance cities and interact with the alliance.
This horde character can raid with the alliance, play a BG with the alliance and more.
While a contract is active you cannot play a warfront against this faction, you cannot do PvP against this faction but you can from parties with them.
After you sign a contract you cannot deactivate it until ID-reset.
Contracts will let you play with your friends and it doesn’t matter in which faction he is!
Some raids will hire some classes of other factions for their raid to be stronger…:
This will be an very exciting feature.
Blizzard is
a very good company and they did a lot technically things to World of Warcraft.
All technology is there and maybe they will create a good alternative to World of Warcraft.
