4 expansions and no new tank spec

Please, I want a new tank class to play. My mains for the past 15 or so years have been tank and healer, thats why I am asking for more

Id definitely take another 4 spec class with Tank, Healer, Melee, and Buff.

Spellbreaker/Spellsword - cloth, sword and board or 2h
Tinker - plate or mail, sword and board or 2h
Voidbreaker - plate, 2h tank spec. Would be kind of like Paladins but void based

Or give Shamans a 4th spec as a tank.

Why?

While I do want tinkers because I love the theme and aesthetics. Wanting another tank spec to just have one doesnt make a lot of sense to me.

I really enjoy tanking.
My mains through my nearly 16 years of pkaying have been tank and healer as I am really not a fan of dps

I like the tank classes we have, druid paly and monk being my favourite, but they all get old after a while

Pretty much this.

If it has a DPS spec, most players will do that instead.

Makes zero sense why people who don’t tank, don’t want more tank options, but would be fine with more of the spec they play

With ya brother, would LOVE more tank options, better yet, more trinity class options. Obvious fit would be a tech themed class, considering everything going on.

We’ll see what comes.

It doesn’t have to make sense to you why he wants one. He wants one. Nobody would force you to play it.

Make tinkers the opposite of evokers.
Tank/DPS/Supp DPS trees. It would work so perfect.

I can see how tanks feel ignored when only 3 of the 4 classes added to the game have had tank specs.

They keep adding classes that have the ability to tank, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference to the overall size of the pool of tanks, people either like to tank or they don’t (and clearly most people don’t). The role itself just isn’t very appetizing to a lot of people it seems, adding more tank specs won’t change that.

I say add a pure dps hero class for a change!

The one thing that keeps me from playing Shaman full time over Monk is the lack of a Tank Spec. Tinker, I don’t know how it’d work since the main reason Ogres aren’t in game is because of the doors and a proper Tinker would have a massive machine on their back.

Spellbreaker would tread too close to Mage and probably steal spells from them. Not likely given the preference many Devs have for Mage. Voidbreaker sounds unfortunately like a Death Knight but without the Undeath thing going on.

Probably Earth Spec Shaman Tanking would be the most visually diverse of the ideas and could work as a 2h Tank I reckon. Mind you I am not saying this because it’s my preference, but I’m just trying to visualize what a Voidbreaker, Spellbreaker and Tinker would bring to the game; and sadly in two cases it sounds like “Death Knight Lite”, “Plate-Wearing Mage but we require Spellsteal as well as other abilities” and “How the heck do I fit through this door?”
