got 3 trinkets, 1 bad, 1 ok, 1 not even usable by spec (ranged attack proc for windwalker?)
5/8 cloaks 1 bad trinket and 2 wrists (my spark slot) Pretty sure it just checks your chars highest slot for ilvl then drops that on purpose cause 30 year old game canāt be coded
This is exactly the same problem as the end of the expansion with the weekly Dream Grove quests. You got the same 3 pieces pretty often from following the tree, planting seeds, and getting the rep. Super. Frustrating.
People in my guild were complaining about only getting cloaks.

RNG is RNG.
Only three more and you will be able to wear a different cloak each day of the week. Just think how stylish you will be!
This is why RWF and generally higher end players level multiple characters of the same class. The more sets of dice you roll the less likely you are to be a victim of RNG, the more chances you get to have a lucky roll as well. Might get squat going through LFR / Normal / Heroic on one character while another might end up with their full 4p and a nice trinket or two.

This is sophistry because we both agree Blizzard is using a random generation, despite not knowing this. For this to be ārandom,ā all specific items need to be of equal drop chance.
This is absolutely false. Depending on the probability you can absolutely get a suggestion from just 4 datapoints. That is not the same as saying it is definitive. But those are different words with different definitions.
If I win the lottery 4 times, that suggests Iām cheating it somehow.
If I get hit by lightning 4 times, that suggests Iām being unsafe in bad weather.
If I get in a car accident 4 times, that suggests Iām not a safe driver.

They probably did the thing where they make a full set, including cloak, and then when you loot the game just offers loot your are eligible to equip. So cloth, leather, mail, and plate all have an associated cloak. But since cloak doesnāt have an armor type, all the cloaks are available to all armor classes.
Yeah I got 3 cloaks in a row last night. Fourth drop was a 2h axe with haste/vers on it. Not the best but not the worst.
They should have used the bullion system here, obviously you would need more than 2 for a piece of gear but I could see it scaling.
100 bullion for a chest piece, you earn 20 in a bountiful 8, 10 in a bountiful 5 or whatever numbers you could balance.
That way if someone slams all their selves they can at least focus one piece
I keep getting epic shoulders from all forms of contents so yeah not sure if loot slightly buggy

Peak reward design was end of BFA, when the vault gave you an item, but also gave you bad luck currency that could be used for getting at least something you wanted.
Bullion filled a similar role in S4 dragonflight. And something like that, should absolutely be the norm in every season. If I get bamboozled by the great vault 4 weeks in a row, I should at least be guaranteed one item of my choice.
