Got 2.1 in 2s where hunter is very strong, and struggling to climb past 1.8 in 3s. Granted I haven’t found anyone my gear level to play with in 3s and have been playing with rival geared KFC/Cupid and not jungle bc I can’t find a feral but man that 1 extra person just makes stuff so crazy to me. There’s so much going on I am having a hard time adjusting to the 3s meta.
Is it something that just takes time to learn? Or when I find the right team and someone that can call swaps/kinda lead the flow of the game will it become easier? I’m trying to learn it on my own by watching streamers but watching and doing are two different things.
How did you guys adjust to 3s from 2s when you made the swap? I feel like a lot of people might be in the same boat as me where they feel more comfortable playing 2s.
My goal was to hit gladiator this season and I’m not giving up but man this is not easy. At all
I mean there is a lot more goin on in 3s. It takes time to get used to. You’re going from being one of the top dawgs in 2s to just a hunter again in 3s. Keep practicing!
So i’ll try to provide some insight on this as someone who is mostly a 2s player and just barely average at pvp in this game. I’ve said it countless of times. BM hunter is mostly a 2s spec. If you really think about it, the BM hunter is a glass cannon. Yeah we do a fair amount of dmg and can also crowd control ever 20 seconds or so but in 3s, if you train a bm hunter eventually they just run out of CDs and flop over. If that doesn’t work, most teams will train the pet into the ground and force the hunter to waste time trying to rez it OR force a major defensive CD to rez it like turtle. Overall, like ive said before, bm hunter is just not that good in 3s and has only one viable comp which is jungle cleave.
Comes with time and practice my man. Gotta build that awareness up that 2s (specially as a bm hunter in 2s) doesn’t give you. Awareness, which is mainly knowing where you and the other 5 people are at all times, knowing what cds they have available offensively and defensively, knowing what they are doing, having enough game knowledge to predict what the other player is gonna do with what they have, etc., just comes with time and hours after hours of 3s gameplay until you get used to seeing everything on your screen, and to actually understand what you’re seeing.
Unless you play a warrior. Then you can just target acquired and get to 2400 without pressing more than 5 buttons and taking your eyes off that juicy caster.
Jokes aside, don’t worry, you’ll get there if you put in the time and practice. It’s really good to watch streamers but mainly to listen to them: What are their calls? What do they talk (think) about during the game? Where do they position themselves? When do they swap on a bad positioned enemy? When do they play back when they have no cds and how?
It’s a really good idea to watch healers point of view sometimes even if you play a dps, since us healers are usually the ones that need the most awareness, because we’re basically the nanny of 2 armed monkeys LMAO so watching a healer will teach you a lot on where to be positioned, when to use certain cds, when to go all in, etc.
Watch out for all that stuff, it’s really important, more than just watching streamers play for the sake of it.
GL!
Your main goal is just sit back and do as much damage as possible, and kick important casts then keep up pressure. Positioning matters more in 3s so you’ll have to get used to it but it’ll happen naturally with time
No wonder you’re just a 2s player being carried by spec. Because you’re bad and clueless at the game.
Hunter is strong in 3s also. Quit giving your useless advice because it’s always wrong.
Ax, you will do fine once you find the right partner’s. The spec is good and you just need to be patient. A little harder to do now since not many people queuing butt the right partner’s with the right mindset and jungle/cupid will skyrocket.
Keep pushing and talk to good hunters. Don’t take advice from bad hunters like the Donald kid.
To this day it stresses me out more than 2s. Enjoy it way more though. I’ve gotten virtually the same rating in both on multiple classes and roles though. You’ll get it. Takes time.
Well most healers can’t heal and make it really stressful when ur whole team is dead from start to finish and ur basically on a timer of 30 seconds a lot of the time. In my opinion it’s the trash healers that can’t even sit back and heal through the dmg and don’t push their buttons. If you can’t heal a minimum of 2 minutes I’m 3s u shouldn’t be healing and shld be banned from using lfg
Coming from a warrior lol. It’s not that easy bro. We have to get past all the cheese zug zug war/rsham/Dwayne 3v2 for the first minute of a match comps to get there and guess what that’s like 30% of your matches up to 2.1 and another 20% are the other ridiculous war/healer combos. Warrior is literally the #1 class in 2s and 3s so please take a seat and reflect how a 1 celled organism must be able to make it to 2.1 as a warrior if hunters are apes.
Oh and you can hide your wow profile but you can’t hide your check - PvP! There’s only one musclecrowe on there and unless you changed guilds it’s not you. Don’t come talking trash when you play a better class and have a lower rating (or no rating) than the person you’re trash talking.
Sorry zez, different game at different ratings. People at 1500 basically mongo all their cds at the start and it’s just as much up to the DPS to peel/kite/survive as it is the healer at low rating. You have no idea how many pugs ive que’d with that kinda just stand their with wings, avatar, and dwayne up, looking at me like i’m supposed to pump godly ammounts of HPS into someone, then 30 seconds later I have no infusion, guard spirit, or serenitys left and the dps is just like ???.
Low rating 3’s the meta is learning how to not get rekt. Once everybody learns how to not get rekt climbing is way easier. If I had reg partners for 3’s with voice this would go a lot better, but i’ve only pugged a little over 100 3’s this season, and it’s pretty much the same exact situation. Enemy pops cds, dps doesn’t react, dead teammate, someone leaves party.
1800 geared hpriest lf consistent 3’s lol.
Anyways, 2’s is a little more manageable for the no voice pugger.
